CHARACTERISTICS
Appearance:
Louis has short rough hair colored brown, blue eyes and strong face features. His lips are full, he has high cheek bones and a sturdy chin. He is capable of growing a beard, but keeps it minimal. His skin is soft and shows none visible scars. For an outsider he may look a bit pale, but to circle mages most it is common.
Personality:
Louis is a man loyal to the Andrastian Chantry, believing that Mages should rather serve the White Divine as a right hand like the Templars, assisting the people who require aid. He agrees with his fellow mages that being locked in the circles like a prison solves nothing, but rather support the idea that they should be observed for safety. According to him Magic is a curse set on the people to remind them of their wrongs against The Maker, and that only when they realize their potential of using the curse to something good rather than evil, they may finally be free and seen in the light of the Maker once again.
Having lived most of the life in the circle Louis has become a scholared man, educated by learning through books and others. He has a particular interest in lore, personal stories, architecture and linguistic. Lock-picking and sneaking in the shadows has also become something he is good at, having done so many times over to read forbidden books or to be with friends. To women he is a charming man, always flirting, never shy. To people generally he is kind, supporting and aiding those in need.
HISTORY
Born in Orlais to a noble family, Louis came willingly with the Templars to the circle of Montsimmard at the age of seven after discovering his abilities. There he was taught by the Enchanters how to control his power and he was quick to learn, becoming one of the fastest rising students. He grew a passion and interest for books and women, while he at the same time remained a devoted believer in the Andrastian faith like his parents.
Even though his religion forbids sexual intercourse before marriage, Louis used his charm and good looks none the less, and the woman loved him for it. In moments of need he would come to people`s aid, either assisting them with lessons or support them as they grieved for themselves or loved ones. Louis became a popular man within the circle, but like most people he too had rivals who sought to expose and bring down his “blasphemies ways of thinking”, which he with wits and a cunning mind always repelled.
At the age of nineteen he completed his Harrowing and was granted the title Enchanter, moving up in rank and office, joining the loyalist fraternity group shortly after.
Eight years later, having heard rumours of blight and wars, his circle eventually fell like all the rest, and as the survivors fled after destroying their phylacteries he joined up with the mages gathering at Andoral`s reach. Wanting a peaceful solution which he knows can no longer be granted.
