Gear: Rawen is clad in the trademark grey and blue armor of the Gray Wardens. Her armor specifically, is light in weight, which suits her class fairly well. It appears to be a basic splint-mail material, which is light and allows Rawen maximum flexibility and mobility.
Though not part of the actual uniform itself, Rawen does like to wear a silver and gold designed scarf that had been given to her from her mother.
Her weapons consist of an Ironbark longbow, which had been her father's. She also has a few Dar'Misu daggers in which she throws, or uses them for hand to hand combat.
CHARACTERISTICS
Appearance: Standing at 5'1'', Rawen is perhaps slightly smaller than the average female elf, but not by too much. She is lithe and wiry in stature. Through her years in training as a hunter, she has developed lean, yet subtle muscles along her body, particularly her legs due to how much she runs. Her skin is a little pale, despite her many hours in the sun a day. During the summer though, it does tend to darken up quite a bit, but most generally it is pale. Enscribed on her face, like all her fellow Dales, is the Blood Writing tattoo. Her tattoo in particular, represents Andruil, the Goddess of the Hunt.
Her hair is a dark brown, though in certain light it appears almost black in color. It is mostly straight for the most part, though it does curl up from time to time given the right circumstances. Rawen prefers to wear her hair down, never up.
Personality: Rawen is naturally an out doorsie type of girl...well...of course seeing as she was raised amongst the Dalish.
She is a hunter by heart, and truly enjoys the activity. It does hurt her in a way to kill the animals she hunts though, but it is a task that needs to be done to feed the clan. After a kill, Rawen will often sit beside the animal, and pray for it's spirit to find it's way home.
Rawen is naturally very clan oriented, and adores her clan to pieces. It was her home after all, and it was heart breaking to leave it. Though she still finds the time to write every so often.
She's a little wary of others outside her clan, particularly humans. They were responsible for her mother's death, and so it is only natural she keeps a close eye on the humans.
Towards other elves, she feels a sort of kinship, especially other Dales. To the Alienage Elves, she feels sympathy for them, but will not reject a city elf's friendship just because of how they were raised.
She can be quite stubborn at times, sticking to her words and beliefs firmly unless given a very educated reason for how she is wrong.
Rawen can be a bit arrogant at times, and will sometimes show off her abilities if given the chance. She is especially competitive with men, and will not deny a challenge if offered one.
Though on the rare times when she grows arrogant or competitive, Rawen is actually fairly quiet for the most part, especially around strangers. Once she gets to know someone, only then does she really open up.
She feels a never ending guilt, feeling as though it was indeed her fault her father died, and since then, death can easily rattle the young elf. Death, though terrifying, death itself isn't what scares her. If someone dies in her presence, she will have the feeling to just break down right there, because she feels she could have prevented the death.
HISTORY
Rawen was born to one of the wandering clans of the Dalish elves. Her parents were well respected in the clan. Her father was the craftsmen, and her mother had been the one to tend to the Halla.
As a child, of about perhaps four or five, Rawn's mother had grown gravely ill as a sickness affected the Clan. About three weeks after the sickness hit, Rawen's mother had passed away during her sleep, leaving the young elf now motherless. She had grown considerably close with her father after that, and she hardly left his side for anything, as if afraid that he would be lost too. For a time, Rawen had tried to follow her father in the way of crafting, but found that she was...well, not that great. Instead, she found a new passion, and that was hunting. She would often watch as hunters came and went, carrying their bows and bringing home prey. The young girl had become intrigued, and felt the need to be out there with them, to explore and crave her restlessness. So, Rawen then, now the age of eleven, had since then taken up to being trained by her uncle. Thankfully, the girl learned quick, and actually did quite well with a bow.
About two years or so passed, and all was well so far. Rawen and her father decided to go out into the forest one day, for she wished to show her father how well she was doing, and to prove to him that she was nearly ready to become a full hunter. The day was quickly spoiled though, when a small band of human raiders attacked the two elves. The two fended them off as best as they could, but to no avail. Rawen's father turned to her, and ordered her to run back to the clan for help. Rawen hesitated, and instead tried to draw another arrow to attack one of the men. As a couple ran to grab her though, Rawen fled, dropping her bow in the process as she made her way back to the clan as quickly as she possibly could.
Rawen crashed back into the camp, screaming for help, and many of the clan's hunters took up arms and followed Rawen's trail back. Rawen had been ready to chase after the other hunters, when the clan's First put a gentle hand on her shoulder, telling her to stay here. Reluctantly, the young elf stood and waited, crying silent tears.
Some time passed, she was unsure how long for it had seemed like ages, before the party of hunters returned. Rawen dashed towards the returning clan-mates, searching for her father among them. To his horror, one of the hunters was carrying a body in his arms, and immedietly, she recognized the tattered, bloody body of her father. Rawen cried out in denial and ran towards the one who held her father.
Surely he couldn't be dead could he? Rawen shook clasped one of her father's still warm, yet limp hands. She couldn't believe it. And even as she grew older, she could never get over her father dying.
The funeral was held, her father buried, and nothing was ever really the same.
Rawen drifted from her clan quite a bit, feeling ashamed, feeling as if it was all her fault her father had been killed. Though he had told her to run, she felt like a coward, and that she had failed her clan-mates. The drifting did not end, and by the age of nine-teen, it drove her to the point where she wished to leave. It broke her heart to even think this, but she felt it would be better had she just simply leave.
With much sadness, and reluctant good-byes, Rawen headed out, promising that one day, she would see her clan again. She just needed to...what? Get herself straightened out maybe? Something like that.
She traveled for several weeks, and came across a small band of Gray Wardens. When she discovered who they were, Rawen begged to be allowed to join. Of course, joining had meant to take the fabled Joining Ritual, which would take place at Vigil's Keep. It was a mysterious and frightening sounding thing. It was grueling, and rather...disgusting. The effects of the Joining left her with nightmares, yet a deep inner strength. After her Joining, she took up her oaths as a Warden, and traveled where ever the Wardens were needed. She returns from time to time, back to Vigil's Keep for a moment's worth or R&R.
Her current events have yet to be recorded. But such tales will come in time.
