Favorite Dragon Age chracter?

Ok folks, this is a question I have asked many times, but I keep forgetting the answers XD. But I would likie to know everyones favorite DA character, only canons obviously, and it can be from a book or game I dont care. Im just interested to know who they are and why.

Mine are: Maric, first off the man is just awesome, and he is blond! I like the way he thinks, I am more like Maric than Alistair, and its not often I find characters like me. Usually there is alot of cliche character personalities in books and games, but I feel that Maric is well, me in the canon DA universe.

My second honestly would have to be Loghain, hes just awesome in TST, one of the best written characters of all time, and hes not just the mean self-rightous persone he seems to be in DAO, TST brings out who he actually was.

Third, I had a hard time on this one, its between Alistair and Duncan, I like Alistair's funny quips and his great sarcastic sayings, but Duncan is just a great character, I havent read THe Calling, but I liked Duncan from the moment you meet him in DAO, he is strong but nice, and he seems to be very smart. I tied them because Alistar is like Duncans son rather than Marics, atleast thats how he explains him. But tell me who yours is! I would really like to know! ;D

[The Maker]

Oooo this is a good question and a great topic!
Haha well I don`t have three favourites, I have more...so I am just gonna mention those I like the most. xD

I would have to say that Loghain is one of my top favourite`s, yes yes he may seem a bit evil in the game, but after reading the book Dragon Age. The Stolen Throne, you really get to know how is like. He is a great character, a fantastic general. Reading about him fighting off the Orlesians was epic!! I really felt bad for him sometimes too, and I understand his decisions, even though they often may seem to be rash and brutal.

My second favourite is Morrigan, her behavior is just awesome! She is a tough woman, not afraid to speak back and she is quite capable of handling difficult situation on her own. And I love her bickering with Alistair, which I find very amusing. Yet there is this dark mystery about her, which kinda makes it hard to tell what she is going do next.

Shale, haha what a funny Golem, when you first meet the Golem you quickly notices it hates birds and one believes Shale is a male, but once you quickly figure Shale is a woman and that she loves crystal`s it gets even more hilarious. Her conversations are quite fun and its always amusing to listen to what she has to say, but no matter what you do, do not mention birds or show signs of birds because that will only scare or make her angry. xD This character was not only great in the game, but also in the books. I really like this character.

Oghren, oh what a drunken dwarf, haha this guy is my fourth favourite. That he can be drunk and fight at the same time is incredible and his behavior makes me laugh every time, he always has something improper to say and his burps come at the most fitting moments too. He may be a disgusting little dwarf, but none the less he is great!

My fifth favourite got to be Leliana I think, she is sweet and kind and that she is a religious bard with epic fighting and shooting skills make her very interesting to me. Her lust for adventure is great, and that scene where she sings in the game is just amazing. The fact that she seems like a very innocent girl, but isn’t really innocent is also what makes her stand out from the other characters I think, so she is indeed one of my top five.

Ha, I got so many favourites, but Sten I think must be my last here, even there probably are more. His way of speaking about the Qun is fascinating and that he spends so much time with the Warden and his/hers companions makes me wonder if he ever thinks about becoming a Tal Vashoth, even he seems firm in his beliefs. He is a great warrior and a good asset to have as a companion, a very cool character, even though I think it`s unfortunate that he does not look like the Qunari in DA2.

Oh I forgot, Rowan in the book Dragon Age: The Stolen Throne is also great, but anyway I shouldn`t ramble that much, has so many favourites. xD

Loghain, easily. Right from the first time I started Origins I found him to be a very sympathetic villain, because while his methods are flawed he's genuinely trying to do the right thing. His problem really only comes from the fact that he spent so long hating Orlesians and trying to keep them out of the country that, when the possibility that they might come back in force arose, he lost sight of all other threats and was easily manipulated into doing things he normally wouldn't consider. That, I think, is why I like him so much - he's such a complex character, living so completely in the grey area where it's impossible to distinguish good from evil, that he feels completely real.

Then, if you listen to his party banter with Wynne, you get an even deeper view of him - he defends himself, but despite her constant attacks he is never once spiteful or cruel to her. Instead, he accepts her condemnation as well as all responsibility for what he's done and his anguish bleeds through his words, showing all the humanity that he tries so hard to bury. Upon returning to Ostagar he even tells her that he knows the names and families of the people he left to die, knowing better than anyone what his schemes cost. It's easy to tell through most of the game that he hates himself and what he's turned into, but he honestly believes that he's doing what needs to be done. He knows what he's doing is wrong, but he's willing to be the villain because he believes that it will save the lives of the people he's spent his whole life protecting, sacrificing the few to save the many.

Great! Loghain is a lot different in the book, thats why I understand his discions in the game way more clearly. I have never met shale but hopefully I get the other DLC soon so I can. I am also a fan on Katriel she is deep too, and I like how she has the change of heart and helps Meric. Also like the fact atht Rowan and Loghain fall in love!

Certainly Loghain.

I like that he's initially presented as a bad guy, but he's actually a good guy. I don't have patience for long paragraphs, so I'll say these things in short ways.

Loghain's... cool. Cold. Warm. Friendly. Unfriendly. Smells like a dog, but has the dignity of a King, I mean... he's simply an amazing character.

Then Merrill.

She's extremely funny and has problems with herself. Every comment she makes... auto-approved and auto-laughed by me. Plus, she deserves a special mention because in my opinion she is one of the few really good characters in DAII.

And absolutely, unquestionably: Hawke.

She or he's just awesome. Pure gold hero character of a story. Walking cliche number #1 in the DA universe. The overcoming underdog. The Champion of XXXX. Possibly an apostate, which makes him or her even more the underdog. PURE GOLD, I TELL YE!

[Addy Castillon]

1. Leliana. She's smart, beautiful, and strong. She is also passionate about her beliefs, but prefers believe the Maker has not totally abandoned humanity, turning her passion into a positive. Kind of wish there were religious people like her in real life!

2. Morrigan. Bold and honest. She speaks the truth, no matter how harsh it may be.

3. Alistair. OIFGNGMJNJKGS so adorable I'm literally in love with him I'm going to get my last name changed to his and name my babies after him. Not really, but still. Cute, funny, and witty! Kind of a baby, but no one is perfect.

4. Sarcastic/Charming Hawke. She was a nice girl, but with a witty tongue. It was different from the usual goody two-shoes or the aggressive evil bitch.

5. Dog. That was one badass dog.

6. Wynne. She was like the party grandma. She was concerned about everyone's well being and she was also a good group healer!

Okay LIST TIME:
(in so specific order)

• Varric: He is the only party member in DAII who isn't a judgmental poop. He likes Hawke for being Hawke and just wants people to be treated fairly. I love that. Plus he's constantly telling stories and is just...awesome. <3.
  
• Alistair: Okay I'm lightly in love with this one. Not in a creepy NO MAN CAN MATCH HIM way, but he's just so...gahh. The rose. The being a virgin thing. How awkward he is. I know some people find him annoying - but I find it endearing. I...oh. I just realized I'm dating someone like that. I'll be awkward over there now ->
  
• Duncan: He's the definition of awesome and badass. And he rocks the man pony-tail. WHY DID YOU DIE YOU BEAUTIFUL HUMAN -cries in corner-
  
• Flemeth: Because she can turn into a dragon. And she's awesome. And super powerful. I love how she never chooses a side. She just is a chess player with the world at her disposal.
  
• Wynne: I've adopted her as my badass grandma. She's not coy about her powers nor does she fight against the Circle. I love her sooo much gahhhh
  
• Sebastian: I WILL REMOVE YOUR CHASTITY BELT WITH MY TEETH. I liked his backstory and how he actually believed in the Maker. Everyone in DA2 was somewhat anti-religion, and it was just a nice mix. Plus he was beautiful and had a voice that removed clothing. I mean what? >.>
  
• Sten: I love the full circle that you can have with him, if you talk to him in a certain way. He starts off thinking you're a pile of crap, then by the end he respects you. And loves cookies. I bro-ship Sten/doggie.
  
• Isabela: Her boobs are so big. How does she do rogue things? I would fall over if mine were that big. She's just...awesome though. Her back commentary is amazing...plus listening to her screw[with] Fenris always makes my day.

I basically like most - but these are my favorites.
I love Anders too but he's more fun to play rather than be around. Romancing him made me stressed. HE IS SUCH A BAD BOYFRIEND OMG.

AND SANDAL IS THE BEST CHARACTER BECAUSE HE'S SECRETLY THE MAKER AND/OR ANDRASTE.

Well here are my favourite characters

1. Cassandra Pentaghast: Obviously

2. Merill: I loved her shy personality and honesty

3. Shale: This character because of her war against pigeons XD

4. Duncan: because he is pretty awesome

5. Leliana: Strong hearted, courageous and kind

6. Ohgren: Because he burps after drinking the darkspawn blood XD

Ok so...I have a LOT of favs...but I will list my top favorites~ not in any specific order though~

Alistiar; Well...most people love this guy I love how he is so sarcastic with everything, and always has a cheesy line to say~ Also, the romance was...endearing I guess? xD Although he is the epitome of "cheesy romance", he's still so loveable though xD I also love how so awkward he is...he's just adorable

Zevran; Ok, that elf, is like, one of the sexiest elves ever. Next to Legolas from Lord of the Rings~. Am I the only one who thinks his accent is sexy too? I mean...gahhhh that voice~ <3 plus, you have to love his cocky attitude and his habit of hitting on any living being he comes across.

Morrigan; Most bad ass female character. Ever. She's just this totally wicked, sarcastic, bitchy char, but you can't help but like her at least a little. Plus deep down, she is vulnerable, she just hides it. And befriending her to the point that she looks at you like a sibling was very heart warming to me because well...It's Morrigan! And it's hard for her to show feelings so that makes it special

Flemeth; Ok actually, Flemeth is a total bad ass female too. I love how she answers your questions with other questions and riddles and such. And she's so mysterious and just...awesome! Plus, she can turn into a dragon. That automatically makes her bad ass

Varric; Ok, gotta love the sexy beardless dwarf with the gorgeous cross bow. CURSE YOU BIANCA! WHY MUST YOU GET IN THE WAY OF DWARFY LOVE?! ....errm anyways~ I just love how a loyal character he is towards you, and how he's always got your back...plus...the stories~ so many exaggerated stories!

Fenris; Ok, who doesn't love a good broody, sexy elf? Definietly on my list of top sexy elves. I'm always fascinated with his markings too...and his habit of punching through people's chests like the one indian guy on Indiana Jones~ am I the only one who has to say "Kalimah" when he does that? It's just too tempting xD I would have this man's broody babies in his honor if I could. ;D

Anders; I'm more of a fan for Awakening Anders, as is a lot of people...but I do kinda like how unstable he is in DA2. I just hate romancing the dude. It's good for a while...then BAM! He starts a freaking war on you D: silly man. And his obsession for cats is both adorable and creepy

Duncan; He's like that kickass, awesome grandpa I always wanted. It's always sad when he dies ;-; seriously.

Isabela; Gotta love the awesome pirate chick just...no words to describe her awesomeness~ <3

[Senior Enchanter Charlise]

Hmmmm I don't really have many reasons as too why I like these characters in this way but...

1. Wynne - She's the super Mum! Seriously, she advises you. I odn't get why many people hate her?!
2. Sebastian - *Swoons at his accent*
3. Varric - Who can say no to the chest hair?
4. Dog - He's so cute and clever.... You can actually have conversations with him!
5. Alistair - *Fangirl scream*
6. Flemeth - Love her voice actress though preferred her demeanour in Origins rather than 2.
