The desolate lands of the Anderfels stood silently contemplating its dark past. Through out this section of Thedas, steppes revealed their quiet nature while hiding its true purpose. Grass barely revealed themselves to the naked eye, in this land tree's doesn't exist. However a great presence is seen far to the north of this barren land, scars of the past are still seen within parts of the Anderfels.
Deep within the very earth stood a medium sized hill which looked like the very ground had a giant bump. Nestled on top of this hill were the ruins of an old fortress, giant stone slabs were formed together like a giant puzzle, which created this mighty stone formation. But this fortress would look familiar those who are Fereldens, now it is nothing more then a ruined shell of its former self.
These ruins however were like the twin to the ruins of Ostagar. Stone Archways made themselves as they stood towering over those who would venture threw them, each section of the fortress was a mere image of Ostagar. Stone steps led upwards towards the battlements, giving away a wonderful view on the once beautiful land. Huge stone towers reached up towards the sky, as they seemed to have been untouched by time itself.
Inside the main section of the Fortress lied a small oblong shaped building made out of stone. The door was made out of bronze wood and had a circle like handle, the stone work looked as though it had been taken care of. As this door slowly opens darkness would appear to the human eye, and a set of two torches stood at the top. Behind the torches was a set of pure stone steps, which went down into the murky depths.
After a good number of steps it would come into a giant room filled with stone coffins. Each tomb was made out of pure stone and laid next to each other in a row on the left and right hand sections of the room. In the middle was a stone table and above it was the ancient symbol of the Grey Wardens, here stood the tombs of the long time heroes who slew the Arch demon many years ago but where laid to rest.
The Mausoleum itself was well looked after and showed signs that there were people here. Outside this small stone part of the Fortress the ground itself was laid with stone pathways which led all across the fortress. It looked as though a giant stone snake had slithered across the fortress and shedded its stone skin, even large cages were seen where Griffins where once held there until the Grey Wardens of old used them for their needs.
Different sections of the wall, which shrouded the fortress, had given away. But part of the fortress had bronze wooden doors, which led into stone hallways; each hallway was filled to the brim with torches, and stone walls. But due to the fortress being in ruins it only had four rooms, the first was a large square room, which contain many polished armours, weapons and shields. The second was a fairly large room but was filled with many beds; one room was another square room however it was filled with barrels of drinks and food.
Finally the last room was another square room but was filled with a bed, several armours. A map of Thedas which sat on top of a wooden table and one chair, back outside the fortress still stood tall and proud as it welcomed any one within its hallowed halls. Except for Darkspawn of course, this ruined fortress was of course the birthplace of the Grey Wardens. And was now the home to First Warden Anna and her brethren, tents appeared all across the fortress and even the odd sounds of swords clashing, armours being shaped and groups of people simply talking.
Weisshaupt Fortress welcomes all to its abode.

An Army of darkness began to march westwards across the plains of the sky. Their weapons, armour and shields pressed forwards ensnaring the heavens within their mighty grasp. Soon they engulfed the battlefield and raised their shields into the air in total victory; the mirror sheen coating on their shields revealed the sparkling stars as they celebrated by spreading their light down upon mankind. As night slowly began to appear, the impenetrable fortress of Weisshaupt came alive as torches where lit in key areas as their light shone threw the night sky, deep within the very core of the mighty fortress a handful of armoured men and women Grey Warden stood crowded together.
Each men and women that stood together were aged between twenty to about forty. Their armours shone off the light of the torches, weapons of different varieties sat on their backs or by their sides, from maces, to bows and arrows, even axes and great swords were visible. The symbol of the Grey Wardens began to shine with pride as it sat on top of a nearby archway, voices were heard from the group as they began to speak on things from the current events to personal matters.
However their chatter was instantly stopped as a sound of footsteps approached them. This sound was accompanied by a clinking noise which was synchronised with the foot step noise, the Grey Wardens immediately stood to attention and moved around until their lined up in a horizontal direction. Emerging from a nearby archway was Anna, Acting First Warden of the Grey Wardens, garbed in full plate armour from chest to toes she stood examining the wardens who stood showing their full respect and support for their acting commander.
A smirk appeared on Anna's face as she looked at her brethren. To Anna these men and woman were like her younger or older brothers and sisters, however they were chosen especially by her to travel to Ferelden. It was time for they’re to prepare themselves, and what better way to boast their morale was to meet the chosen wardens and give them a speech. Slowly she examined each Warden and greeted them with a smile; quietly Anna talked to each one of them as she made sure they were all right.
Luckily they stood prepared thus making Anna feel proud of each of them. Walking backwards, she stood in front of them and spoke a voice, which was filled with pride, compassion and respect for men and women of the Grey Wardens. "If First Warden Aleric was here right now. He would be proud of each of you; in fact he would be proud of all of us. But do not despair, one day our first warden commander will return to us. So until then I will do my best to guide you all threw the dark times that lie ahead of us".
Each word was filled with her very heart and spirit. She knew it would be dangerous and that some may not come back to Weisshaupt Fortress at all, but she had faith in their skills. Anna placed her arms behind her back and spoke out again as she showed her complete faith her brethren. "I have chosen each and everyone of you, because I am sending you all to Ferelden. There I want you all to find out as much as you can about the situation over there, should you find any information regarding the Darkspawn. Report immediately to Weisshaupt Fortress, Our enemy have been pretty quiet lately but we be ever vigilant".
With a sigh, Anna continued her speech with utter determination in her voice. "While your out there, I want you all to be careful, find out as much as you can and head back home. To each and everyone if you, your like family to me. So come back on one piece and make First Warden Aleric proud! May the Maker watch over all of you". The group of Grey Warden's saluted to Anna and soon prepared to gather their supplies for the long journey.
While the Wardens prepared to gather up their supplies. Anna watched them in curiosity incase they ever need to ask her any advice or if they had any questions regarding their mission.

Travel. The open road of the Imperial Highway, the beautiful, scenic views... Wolfezth was never more at home than outside the capital. Minrathous, while a great and wonderful place - he was born there after all... Was much too secure and safe feeling for his liking. Sure, there were occasional threats to his life.. But it wasn't the same as an open battlefield on the shores of Seheron. There were enemies, but hidden ones he could not rip the throat out of and leave for dead. At least here it was a pleasant change of scenery for the Magister. Atop a horse - a black stallion, in the open road, it was almost therapeutic for him.
For Alaina, it was more than a little different of an experience. She had brought her own horse -- a chestnut mare -- but within the first hour she shifted to the back of Wolfezth's horse and kept a dull, dreary silence. The wilderness and open road spelled nothing but trouble to the Senator, who just knew it was a matter of time before they were ambushed or something bad happened. Something bad always seemed to happen when they left Tevinter, but she felt communication lines should be reopened with the Gray Wardens - and made this trip happen in the first place. With the Mage-Templar conflict coming to a head in the South, it was only a matter of time before they made their way north to Tevinter. It was only a matter of time until the heathens in the South decided to try and take Tevinter once more, trying to probe for weakness from the constant war with the Qunari like the scavengers they were.
They were travelling in a small group, with half a dozen legionnaires and Alaina's most trusted mercenary - a dwarf by the name of Gorin Urkak presiding the honor guard in case anything should go awry. If it wasn't for the fact that travel between places was so dangerous, they wouldn't even have them around. The Gray Wardens were not known as backstabbing heathens, and they would not incite a conflict. Weisshaupt was probably the safest destination in Thedas, in all honesty. The only question is, would they participate in this conflict, or would they stay neutral? And if they joined a side, which side would they join -- forced or no? It also helped that the Wardens were held in mild awe even by the Tevinters, Senators and Magisters included partly. Neither of them wanted to be forced to shed the blood of the protectors of Thedas against the Darkspawn. It would simply be.. Wrong. Alaina wanted to be absolutely certain Tevinter would never be forced to do that, as she recognized the value of the Wardens to Thedas - because the Blights would keep coming... And those that had the ability to kill the archdemon were absolutely necessary. To destroy the Gray Wardens was to destroy Thedas. And she wanted to make sure if they joined the war, they would join the right side and not risk annihilation -- or at least stay neutral and not get involved.
The trip itself was relatively uneventful, with the only highlight being a bandit trade tolling that they tried to force upon the travellers. A dozen bandits, dispatched with absolutely terrifying effectiveness. It was at this point where Wolfezth recognized the value of the mercenary dwarf - who had taken down three singlehandedly - and treated him with a great deal more respect. The legionnaires - half of them from one of the newer legions he gained control of recently -- and of the newer generation to get them some experience beyond simple training and drills and half of them from one of his tried and true legions -- the Fourth Wolfpack. Were noticeably more respectful to both the dwarf and to the Magister, who in combat actually seemed to fade away slightly almost like a ghost, with all of his magic focused inward to give himself a physical advantage rather than a traditionally magic one. It was understandably disconcerting to people who have never seen such a thing before - which was exceptionally common. It wasn't like the talent was commonplace - and in fact the only people that any of them knew who could do it was Wolfezth and his younger brother - as a result of their experiences after their noted shipwreck.
Alaina was unafraid to get her hands dirty as well - figuratively of course. Once Wolfezth dismounted, she rode the horse with surprising effectiveness and used her shortbow to an equally surprising efficiency on horseback. Whenever a bandit got behind or tried flanking an ally, she quickly crippled the foe with a shot to the leg - careful to avoid hitting an ally in the process. Her skill as an archer was never in question - just her work ethnic - which as a Senator she never had the will nor the inclination to develop.
The rest of the trip was relatively quiet... And soon they were upon the sight of Weisshaupt Fortress. Tevinter building designs were evident in its construction, it was absolutely impressive.
"Damn..." Alaina whispered breathlessly as the sight came into focus, overawed for a moment at finally seeing such an important historical place. The place where they were founded in the First Blight... Even in its present state, it gave her goosebumps.
Wolfezth merely tightened his reins in silence, and ordered in a low voice as they approached: "Once we get inside, you'll all free to care to whatever needs you need to see to. This place will offer no hostilities to you. But, hear me and hear me well, we will not be the ones to incite any violence here -- under any circumstance. We're here simply because we don't want to be forced to fight the protectors of Thedas. The last thing we want to do is incite more conflict, especially with the war with the Qunari is still ongoing. That being said, enjoy yourselves and try not to break anything. Especially you Fourth Legion - I know how you work." the last part eliciting some laughs from the three Fourth Legion members present.
Minutes later, approaching the main gate, Wolfezth hollered out to the guards on duty.
"Tevinter diplomatic envoy! We'd like to see the First Warden!" in a powerful, commanding voice. Dawn was fast approaching, and the light was starting to shine off the collective lorica segmentatas of both Wolfezth and every legionnaire present. Wolfezth was also dressed in worn leather boots and a thick wolf fur cloak for warmth in the dead of night - with a full assortment of weapons. A belt of throwing knives around his waist, and a bastard sword upon his left hip - he looked absolutely nothing like a diplomat and knew it well. Alaina was dressed in rather plain work clothes for once in her life - as of course riding a horse in a dress was rather uncomfortable to say the least. Her brunette hair was tied back in a ponytail, with her signature swan feather cloak flowing down her shoulders in a comforting blanket of warmth, under which a quiver poked out with hawk feathered arrows and her recurve shortbow was at the ready in case anything else should go awry.
Now, Wolfezth pulled the reins on his ebony stallion and simply waited for a response. He did not want to intrude and be considered rude - already making their disposition to them hostile. He was going to bide his time, and make sure he didn't make any offending moves early on and go from there. His steel gray eyes watched the gate, and one of the guards who walked calmly into the fortress carefully. He wondered briefly about what sort of reception heavily armed Tevinters would get, but shrugged at the thought as he knew it was outside of his control.
As they were waiting, Alaina rested her chin against Wolfezth's right shoulder to get a better view of the entryway herself through her mismatched eyes - one blue and one green. As she waited, she noticed the calm, collected gait of the Warden who went back inside the fortress. She was stunned for a moment that he did not rush, something that was not lost upon her. Then a small smirk crept into her features - sheer amusement. Indeed, they really were outside of Tevinter and around those who are completely ignorant for one not to rush and sprint at the beck and call of not only a Magister, but also a Senator in attendance. It was adorable.
"Five gold says she comes out here and gives us all a speech to behave ourselves just because we're from Tevinter. Any takers?" Alaina spoke offhandedly, rather bored at this point low enough so that only those in the immediate vicinity would hear - as the nearest guard was still nigh on thirty feet away there was no real chance any other Wardens would hear her. Have to lighten the mood a little bit lest everyone get a little too anxious and do something stupid, y'know.

Gorin let out a sigh as he trotted on foot. It had been a long journey from Tevinter to the Anderfells but considering his trek from Orzammar to the Imperium, it was a walk in the park. Speaking of walk, Gorin had the displeasure of having to look up to the humans on their steeds. He was too short for a horse and he wasn't going to travel by pony, and at least according to the Magister's aides a jackass would be too informal. Of course that was why the fiery dwarf wanted one, if people saw him as an ass he may as well have one as a companion. Unfortunately, nobility seemed to have a lack of humor. Gorin imagined nobles and politicians traded their humor to buy the laughter of others...or in a Tevinter's case buy a slave specifically bought for laughing at bad puns.
Gorin did not hate Tevinters or these practices however, he kept his nose out of their business and followed where the gold and fame would take him. Gorin watched their finger wag towards a particular group and then he'd shove his axe down their void. Speaking of which, the only action he had during these travels was with a small group of bandits not so long ago...and with a couple of women at a tavern they had stopped by. Given the fact that Gorin and Wolf were practically twice as scary as trolls and Alaina could kill a man from practically a mile or so away or kill with her razor sharp womanly wiles, the others seemed quite pointless. Probably an entourage to make everyone feel bigger he thought to himself. Although when he wanted to feel bigger about his manhood he didn't bring stooges...he just liked thrusting his big, bold....axe into someones brains.
Gorin snarled, his yellowed teeth contrasting to the shining silver one near his incisor. His forehead wrinkling to a disgusted look."I take these jobs to show my skills and now that I am among those that brave the Deep Roads as their dying deed I can't even bang a few heads together? What's the point of being hired muscle if you don't get to flex?"
He shook his head and sighed, maybe it was not a total loss. Maybe he could sneak in a wrestle or drunken brawl far, far, far away from whatever quarters the uppity Tevinters shared. Maybe spar or train with some of the Wardens, some of the few people Gorin could actually respect in terms of prowess he smiled slightly as he envisioned himself standing atop of moaning warriors and asking if any of them were up for round two. If not, then at least he was being paid well. Every time he worked with magisters, no matter how dishonorable their requests were for him, he still got his weights worth in sovereigns when it ended. If he had to behave he would, his employers knew that much about him. If he was a raging bereskarn everywhere he went than he would not have had any return customers.

Amber eyes drifted from her companions toward the First Warden. Anxiety ate slowly at her, unnaturally yet all the same predictably. It was her first assignment under the jurisdiction of the Wardens, and failure would not be seen in a positive light at all. The remnants of former cuts went down the length of her arm, having long since healed, her left hand clutching the handle of a simple, stained knife, a whetstone making good work of it in her right, striking with precise pressure. Combat was something she preferred to avoid entirely, but it seemed such a tedious fate would be unavoidable in the current circumstances. Her views on blood magic were the similar, yet knowing their foes precautions were best taken. The hospitality of the Wardens had surprised her initially when she became apart of them but a month, or perhaps weeks ago. Yet now she even knew a name here and there, and had grown slightly closer to their lot. The reflection of the sparks flying off her dagger caught her attention. Ferelden was the homeland of Andraste and Barbarians. She wondered how similar a Dragon Cult was to that of a tribe of Barbarians, both living in the scarce harsh conditions and dealing with scorn and vigilante good-doers. Respect for those who knew such plights was given, but Angelus knew she would not hesitate to kill one if necessity dictated a fire be started. It was done. Her hand gently let the Whetstone down by the other assortment of equipment, and leered into the reflection of her knife. Coin would be required for the idiots who couldn't sustain themselves except on such useless trinkets and would betray the world for it. Loose lips as some called them. Quite a fitting description. Perhaps this very shiny silver tool would interest them. Or scare them. Intimidation was a preferred choice of interrogation. [Ignore this if you read her profile. Just simply describing her appearance! ] Placing the weapon back into the little flap in her sleeve, before placing said decorated sleeve upon her arm, she stood turning and looking among her companions for a certain figure. Her robe slunk on her shoulder, draping down across her front and back, diagonal strips were impressed into her outfit, orange runic symbols inscribed upon them, with the bottom of the dress draping on the ground, a darker hue then the other vibrant red on her body. However the dress only hung on one strap, showing off half of her black bra, supporting her bosom and decorated with fire-colored lines. Which made it look like magma as she originally desired. She folded back her arm sleeves into a small cuff near her the end of her shoulders, allowing quicker access to her sharp utensil, and letting the the streaks of carrot flame that started from near her wrists consume the majority of the casing. Fire and Blood. That was her motif. [Doooone~] She picked up a spare staff from one of the weapon racks, a simple one crafted of steel, cut with various scars of untold battles, the top adorned with a clear glass orb, essentially made for one to harness mana upon and allow focusing on one's attacks. A beginner's staff without doubt, but it would make do given the circumstances. Her sandals crushed gently upon the ground with grace, making her way to the First Warden. "I hope not to interrupt your thoughts, or be bothersome, but could I ask you some things of Ferelden? I would be new to that region of Thedas." Angelus' head was bowed with uttermost respect and patience. [Hope this matches the quality of your posts. ]

All was quiet with the Weisshaupt fortress. Its inhabitants the Grey Wardens slowly began to loss faith, their First Warden commander was gone and Weisshaupt itself heavily blames them for the death of their king. However Anna the current acting first warden refused to surrender to doubt and was determined to rescue her father figure and keep the morale of her brethren as high as possible, luckily supplies were holding strong and the wardens now looked to up to her. From the young to the old, Anna vowed to make her father figure proud and protect her family.
Deep within the famed ruins of Weisshaupt, Anna gazed down on a map in sure focus. Things had been dire since the very Anderfels themselves had turned their back on the Grey Wardens; it hadn't been easy these past few weeks. Luckily hope was coming by sea as the call of help had been sent to the King of Ferelden itself; Anna was overjoyed to learn that King Alistair was heading to the fortress to aid them.
This news of course brightened the morale of the soldiers. But all their could do was forge a plan to rescue First Warden Aleric while waiting for the arrival of King Alistair, what was disturbing however was the fact that the true enemy of Thedas the Darkspawn had not been seen. This was a minor setback however as Anna could only make sure her brothers and sisters remained in high spirits, should their moral fall then it was only a matter of time before they either give up or just to Anna for guidance.
Of course she missed the thrill of battle. But family was more important and right now what was more important was their safety and their support in one another to survive. Deep down Anna felt grateful to know that she was not alone, and nothing was going to stop her from protecting Thedas and ensure the Darkspawn would be defeated. Wearing a full suit of plate armour, Anna continued to stare down at the map, but slowly turned herself around and walked towards a small window, which over looked the fortress.
The weather was clear but not sunny. A wind blew across the plains, but the sound of talking and weapons clashing was heard across the fortress. Grey Wardens of various ages wore a variety of different armour and weapons; slowly each of them continued to wait paitently for hope or from a command from Anna. She stood in complete focus and tried not to let anxiety grip tightly around her, suddenly there was a knock on the door, which broke Anna’s focus. Turning to the door Anna spoke out in a professional yet serious voice. “Enter” The door opened outwards and a man in his early thirties slowly walked in, saluted Anna and immediately began to speak his reasons for being in Ann’s quarters. “Acting First Warden! Forgive my intrusion” Anna smiled gently and noticed that the warden was on edge for some reason.
With a gentle nod Anna spoke in a gentle but focused tone. “At ease my brother, what troubles you?” The warden smiled and was honoured to know that Anna was a great acting commander and was thrilled to know that she regard each warden as a brother or sister, with a calming sigh he stood still and spoke. “A small group of Tevinter soldiers have arrived outside Weisshaupt Fortress. And currently wishes to speak with you Warden commander, they said that they were a Tevinter diplomat envoy!” The Acting First Warden was surprised to learn of this, Tevinter had always been the neighbours of the Anderfels.
Narrowing her eyes, she grabbed her weapons and turned towards the Warden while speaking in a serious tone. “Rally the other wardens and open the gates immediately”. The warden immediately dashed out of the room and headed into the main area of the fortress, with a focused sigh she left her room and proceeded to follow the grey warden. Upon arriving in the main centre Anna felt the gaze of her other brother and sisters as she slowly marched towards the front gates. As soon as she got close to the gates, she noticed the voice of a young girl. It was that of Angelus, a young girl who had just now become a Grey Warden.
Turning to the girl, Anna spoke to her while showing the girl respect and friendship. “Unfortunately we have some guests. But I will more then happy to assist you after I have spoken with them, come to my room afterwards”. She said with a smile, but a sound was heard and gently the doors opened widely before the Tevinter group, Anna marched outwards and stood before them.
It was a surprise to see that the Tevinter was right outside her beloved home. Still it not a good idea to start a fight with them, especially when it a diplomat was standing outside, as her eyes gazed towards them, Anna spoke in a voice which revealed her utmost respect to Tevinter and courage which was the main ingredient in her speaking voice. “I am Anna, Acting First Warden of Weisshaupt Fortress in the Anderfels. Soldiers of Tevinter I welcome you all, You are more to welcome to enter here. But all I ask in return that no violence will be shown within the walls of the fortress. May I ask what brings you here to Weisshaupt Fortress?” Anna had to be strict towards the new guests, but she did show her respect to them and that was all she could do.
As she calmly awaited a reply from them, Anna’s thought was towards the Tevinter group and her newest recruit Angelus. The poor girl was new to Ferelden and needed guidance, not only that but a Tevinter Diplomat wanted to see Anna. It was quite luck that the supplies in the fortress remained strong, Anna feared that it could deplete, due to the arrival of the Tevinter, but all she could do and provide any assitance to them and Angelus. Even a dwarf was among their ranks; Anna respected the dwarf for they’re fighting capabilities. Judging from the sharpness of his axe meant that this dwarf meant business. With a sigh Anna stepped aside and quietly invited her news guests within Weisshaupt Fortress the home of the Grey Wardens.

As they waited, the six legionnaires formed a rough wedge around the horse of Wolfezth and Alaina, just in case something bad were to happen. They were not expecting it, no, but you didn't survive for long in Tevinter unless you were more than a tad bit paranoid sometimes.
"I'll take you up on that bet, 'Laina." Wolfezth said playfully, patiently waiting for the doors to open.
A cold breeze blew across the group just then, and the cloaks they wore for warmth fluttered slightly in the wind. Alaina smiled briefly, admiring for a moment how the feathers of her cloak ruffled so beautifully in the wind - and hoped a stronger one could pick up so she could see it again for a fleeting moment before returning her gaze square to the gates. "Wardens certainly know how to keep a girl waiting..." she said, offhandedly, this time loud enough for everyone to hear.
As if on cue, just as she got finished saying those very words - the gate starting sliding open. To the Tevinter's mild surprise, there was only one woman stepping outside... In plate mail; which made Wolfezth smirk the slightest bit. Weighing more than twice as much as the lorica he and the other legionnaires wore, the bulky armor was terrible to breathe in, a pain to put on and off - requiring the services of aids and squires alike - and just seemed to the Magister as a worthless relic of decadence. He wouldn't dare wear one of those on the battlefield, it would undermine speed and endurance with the increased weight and was far less breathable than the lorica - another drawback. Suited for a nice parade, maybe, or a picture, but other than that he couldn't see a single reason to prefer the plate mail over the Tevinter lorica, not one at all. At least he could put on his damned armor by himself without any major drawbacks when he needed to go to battle, unlike this Warden. The reason why aides were so needed for that armor is that by the time one put it on themselves, three battles would've been finished in the span - and it would still be uncomfortable and chafe-y. Just flat out useless for any real venture into prolonged combat, a sign that this is not the Ferelden Blight fighting Wardens, but instead those who fight as leisure instead of necessity. Good to know. Wolfezth did not even try to hide the momentary sneer from his face, she deserved it. Damned figurehead, perhaps the others would help repair this pitiful initial impression of the great and revered Wardens; but he doubted it. They're probably all green as grass around the Anderfels, which was sad. What he would've given to actually meet the one who killed the Archdemon - one who actually managed to give his backwater country in the south some glory and honor for a short while.
Alaina's internal reaction was that of nearly the same immediate disdain. This idiot just waltzed out of the gate into the jaws of a potentially dangerous envoy by herself. Did this woman have a death wish? The Senator almost wanted to trample the Warden with the horse herself just for the sheer stupidity. Did this naive fool actually think that every strange 'diplomatic envoy' wouldn't just be lying? The Wardens have gotten soft, and sloppy it seemed like. They've gotten fat and lazy from the days of peace, and they certainly were not on a wartime level of caution. Indeed, these were not the Blight-fighting Wardens, but ones who have not known the taste of real war both as a people and as an organization in what seemed like centuries save for Ferelden. Not like the Tevinter. Not like the Tevinter at all. And it was painfully obvious - especially considering how much time Alaina has seen legions drilling and their maneuvers and ways of thinking. These Wardens might be needed to take on the Darkspawn... But she couldn't help but wonder why the First Warden would openly make herself a target - to the Tevinter no less - simply because they wanted to see her and asked. She knew for a fact that any random Rivain 'diplomat' wanting to see her husband with an armed group of soldiers wasn't getting him standing outside by himself ready to be killed like yesterday's lamb. If killing every enemy was that easy, Alaina would've been Archon by the time she was 10 years old. Unlike her husband, Alaina reminded at a cheery outward disposition, giving no indication of her internal thoughts, especially when the woman spoke.
“I am Anna, Acting First Warden of Weisshaupt Fortress in the Anderfels. Soldiers of Tevinter I welcome you all, You are more to welcome to enter here. But all I ask in return that no violence will be shown within the walls of the fortress. May I ask what brings you here to Weisshaupt Fortress?”
Alaina grinned in reply, happy that not only had they been invited in - but she won her bet too. At this point, she said rather calmly - her chin still directly on Wolfezth's shoulder on the warm wolf fur cloak.
"We're here about the giant war that's going on. The war is fast spreading, and the time is fast approaching that the lands around here will be ravaged by the conflict instead of being a faraway threat in the south... And the Tevinter Imperium does not want to be forced into conflict with the Wardens. Your Hero of Ferelden proved why Thedas needs the Wardens as a whole, and as unlikely it is for the conflict to reach this far, I want to make sure we have an understanding at the very least just in case it does." she spoke clamly, confidently. Almost with an air of regality. She looked the First Warden dead in the eyes with her mismatched blue and green -- and held her gaze the entire time she was speaking.
At this point, the First Warden motioned them to come in, and the convoy obliged - walking their horses into Weisshaupt Fortress and seeing what this new day would turn out to be - and whether this whole trip was a waste of time or a wonderful opportunity. Of this, Alaina firmly hoped it was the latter - for her sake. They'd taken a risk in coming here, and knew it - now it just was a waiting game to see how much sense the Wardens were going to listen to - and how convinced they were that they could simply hole up and run away from conflict the entire duration of the war.

Gorin shook his head, and let out a grunt for a sigh. This was likely to be fruitless and Gorin knew that. Wardens liked to say that they were above getting involved with the petty politics and squabbles of the world, always standing tall and claiming that the darkspawn threat was their only concern. It would be more probable for Gorin to shave his beard and start casting spells than for a warden to be reasonable in aiding anything other than their "hobby". Despite the dwarf's respect for the prowess of the wardens and their dedication towards their mission, they seemed very hypocritical.
How was it possible to save the world and what it holds dear if the wardens refused to be a part of it? How could they understand what is precious to others if they spurn and deny themselves everything? However the most hypocritical part was the wardens claiming to stay out of politics. After all, didn't a warden choose the king of Fereldan and the king of Orzammar? But Gorin shrugged it off, it was not his place to judge anyone really, he just presumed this endeavor to be pointless.
To top it all off, he could not even try to have a little fun while he was there. He could not get in a brawl, there was likely no lichen ale, and no wench to ease his mind. With a grimace Gorin bit his tongue and his fingers clenched into fists, his nails digging into his palms. Gorin's did a light scoff out of earshot from his employers.
He bumped his elbow into one of the Tevinter soldiers to get their attention, as if a kid talking to another during class. "If we were just going to drop by and say we support them then we could have sent a blasted letter than couldn't we? And if we were gonna ask for help we should have at least noted them so we knew if they would even bother listening."
As the gates opened, Gorin stepped forwards with the others, moving his head about to take in the sights of the fort. This was a place that fit Gorin's tastes perfectly. There was the scent of blood and sweat, tinged with a slight, the sound of armored boots stomping up and down in the perfect rhythm and the wardens, while largely dead serious, were still largely casual in ran.k it seemed. The place was efficient, strong, and not too pretentious

And new visitors came to play in the land of the Grey. Perfect. People outside their own home came in hoping to persuade those who were bound to eternal neutrality to conflict. How utterly strange of them, but perhaps a visit would indeed show Anna how the world around them changed during this points of Crisis. That perhaps not even Wardens could avoid the incoming battles.
Yet that indeed all laid upon the shoulders of these visitors and not her. Hopefully she could tip this in her favor. They looked like they came from Tevinter. Ah, she always knew mages were the smarter ones.
Happily she walked toward the First Warden, acting oblivious.
"Mistress Anna, you didn't say we'd be having guests. Should I alert the cooks to make a preliminary meal of sorts? They look rather important I must say."
Perhaps she didn't look professional, and as of yet she did not adorn the traditional Grey Warden outfit. Considering her mission in Ferelden, perhaps not associating herself with Wardens could help. Yet then again her wardrobe did scream out mage. Maybe she could dye it's color, or make a new one. Ah Reavers. Perhaps she was spoiled in the care of a High Dragon being able to cloak herself with whatever she wished.
Not that the Grey Warden uniform was horrid...just exactly as the name implied. Uniform. She liked being unique. Perhaps she could alter her own set later!
Oh. Yes, Tevinter Envoys. Did she really just forget about that? She tuned in to the responses hoping to catch anything she might've missed.

Anna had to admit that she was quite surprised by the arrival of the Tevinter. At least it wasn't an army from King Mark; still it was a good site to them here in Weisshaupt. It looked like only a small set number of Tevinter soldiers, but looks can be deceiving. Even a dwarf was now among them, without a single objection Anna listened to the words of a Tevinter who seemed quite important due to elegance of her feather cloak. Her words sounded sincere and with a nod of approval and spoke in reply with a tone of gratitude while still showing her respect. "Then I bid you welcome to Weisshaupt Fortress. My home is your home"
Standing to one side she watched the Tevinter party enter the fortress. Voices began to speak in utter disbelief as Anna's companions watched the soldiers enter the fortress, hearing this she decided to speak to them until they all entered the might of Weisshaupt Fortress. With everyone safely inside Anna signalled her fellow wardens to close the gate, and headed back inside.
Slowly she watched the Tevinter and was about to greet them personally when Angelus once again appeared and asked about their arrival. Anna was just surprised as her friend, however those who needed aid were welcome. With smile to Angelus Anna spoke calmly to her. "I would very much appreciate it,” She said to the blood mage, and immediately she headed towards the visitors.
While showing some hospitality to her guests, Anna bowed her head to the Tevinter and spoke with a voice of respect. "Once again I welcome you to Weisshaupt Fortress, perhaps it would be best to talk inside the command post. I have also asked one of my colleagues to ask the cooks to prepare a meal for you all"

The legionnaire Gorin prodded merely looked over to make sure nobody else was paying attention and said under his breath, but loud enough for him to hear: "Ego." obviously meaning to Alaina, who was sitting confident as can be as Wolfezth fidgeted slightly on his horse uncomfortably - looking around trying to be subtle but failing miserably. It was quite clear he didn't want to be here, and he looked almost as if he was walking into a cage. The legionnaire smiled briefly at the sight, tilting his head so Gorin could see it as well.
Another woman was soon in the gateway as well, a mage by the look of it. Alaina couldn't help but grin at the sight of her, because the more mages here the more confident she felt that she could at least get something from the Wardens. From here it was just finding what words it would take to get them to do what she wanted, pure and simple. She didn't know how bad the situation was down in Orlais yet, but by the time they got back word would've gotten up to Tevinter. And she didn't know yet what exactly she wanted from the Wardens, but she was going to give it her best shot to make sure they gave it in the time of need - whether it be supplies or manpower or plain old gold. Honor, loyalty, greed, whatever it took to do it. The more anyone else put forth into the war effort, if there was to be one, the less Tevinter had to expend and could save for the Qunari.
At this point, the leader of the Wardens, Anna her name was, said: "Then I bid you welcome to Weisshaupt Fortress. My home is your home." just like that. No searches, no nothing. This made Alaina feel even more confident, and Wolfezth even more uncomfortable. The latter actually slid off the horse and led it into the fortress on foot, preferring to feel the land underneath his boots rather than sit atop a beast. He was utterly silent, busy surveying the area with his steel gray eyes, his left hand never that far from his throwing knife belt, ready for and expecting trouble out of sheer habit. Nothing ever went to plan, and he was on edge. This was too easy. There should be more suspicion. There should be more... Response? Something. It just seemed innately wrong somehow.
Meanwhile Alaina was completely serene on top of the strong steed, merely grinning widely at the First Warden and saying politely and gratefully: "Thank you, First Warden."
As they walked in, despite the hospitality and the overtly-polite Wardens, the legionnaires had caught onto Wolfezth's unease and were looking around at each and every potential threat and escape route in the fortress, and when the doors closed behind them, the main route of escape was then cut off. This is where things got real. Outwardly, there was no huge sign of their unease, save for Wolfezth's slower-than-usual saunter behind the First Warden and his constant looking around. It was subtle, subtle enough to where Alaina herself didn't even notice.
"Once again I welcome you to Weisshaupt Fortress, perhaps it would be best to talk inside the command post. I have also asked one of my colleagues to ask the cooks to prepare a meal for you all"
Wolfezth visibly stiffened for a moment before continuing on, the seemingly innocent and polite offer being unintentionally reminding both him and everyone else in the convoy that a Senator had died just that past week to someone poisoning their food and drink.
Alaina's facial expression didn't change from polite and upbeat, positive even as she spoke, gently, hoping not to offend: "It's fine, really. We don't need anything of the sort, though we do appreciate the offer." after a moment, she added by way of explanation: "I'm sorry to be rude, but in Tevinter preparing a meal has some... er, bad connotations to it, I'm sure you'll understand." her tone was neutral, as she knew the Warden would really have no way of knowing that she was really making a veiled threat in a sense, and excused it. After another few moments of walking, she couldn't help but state the obvious - a little bit of flattery never hurt anybody: "Anna, you and your Wardens... Really have a beautiful piece of the world over here." she said, using a tone of polite respect and nothing more. A little flattery never hurts, but outright awe gets you killed. It wasn't any sort of training, but merely the aspect of self-preservation and survival instinct that had kept her alive thus far. It was natural to her.

To see only a slither of the Tevinter force within Weisshaupt fortress brought even more hope to Anna's confidence. Now she has a chance to save her adopted family, which was the other wardens and has a chance to actually hold the line in case the King of the Anderfels decided to attack them. Still at least she was able to convince her soldiers that Alaina and her Tevinter guards were allies within their home.
Still to ask for an alliance with Tevinter would do wonders for the Grey Wardens. And should it happen, Anna silently promised to return the favour one-day. But for now she had to tend to them as guest and speak about the recent events, her eyes examined each weapon and armour the Tevinter soldiers wore. And as always these men were well suited up.
And judging from the feather cloak Alaina wore; there was no doubt she was an important part of Tevinter politics. Anna simply nodded in respect to Alaina and continued to guide them towards the command centre, but her guest immediately declined a fresh meal, were they not hungry? Or was there a logical reason behind it? These questions were soon answered as Alaina explained something, looking over her shoulder the acting First Warden Commander spoke honestly while expressing her deepest apologies. "That is unfortunate, but I completely understand".
Stopping she walked over to a nearby warden and ordered him to send a message to Angelus that she should not tell the cooks about meals for the Tevinter, he immediately expressed his respect to his commander and set forth to find Angelus. Anna nodded back to the Tevinter and continued onwards.
Finally as they arrived in front of the door to the command centre, Alaina spoke out about Weisshaupt Fortress. Her words were quite sincere, and in response Anna smiled and spoke her appreciate to Alaina. "I agree my lady, Weisshaupt Fortress is a thing of beauty. This home now" Soon she opened the door outwards and it came out into an oval shaped room.
The sign of the Grey Wardens stood on the northern wall. In the middle was a circle like stone table. And upon it sat a map of the entire region of Thedas, quite a few chairs littered the outskirts of the table. A few decorations stood in front of the other walls, Anna stood to one side and used her hand to invite them in, a gentle fireplace was burning brightly in the eastern wall. Anna once again spoke and said. "Please seat down".
