Sometimes I really do get frustrated with some of the other people in Hawke's traveling group. Especially Anders and Fenris. They both think I'm foolish, dangerous to the people around me because I practice blood magic. I see the way they look at me. They're always watching to see if I'll suddenly go mad and try to attack everybody. Waiting for it. Expecting it. Just like my clan. Why can't anyone see that I'm only trying to help? I've only ever tried to help them! No matter what I try, I can't ignore the feeling of their accusing eyes glaring at me. What if they were right? What if I did give into the demon? They would be all snooty and superior I bet, thinking "Haha, we were right! You were wrong!". What if I never gave into the demon? Would they stop staring at me that way? I don't think so. They're just waiting for me to slip up, I know it. But I won't! I won't hurt my friends! Especially not Hawke, she's done so much for me already, bringing me here and all.
...Is this what the mages in the circle go through? I feel sorry for them if it is, there are a lot more people waiting for them to mess up, it must be really hard not to. I heard mages in the circle don't get to leave the tower! They don't get to see the butterflies! Or birds! Or rainbows! Isn't that sad? Maybe that's why Anders is always talks about them so much. They must be very unhappy.
Varric told me another story today! Isabella was there too. She burst out laughing at one point. I wonder if I missed something dirty, I normally do miss things like that. Do you think Varric will tell me if I go back and ask him? I hope he will! I'll go ask him tommorow, as long as Anders isn't there. I'd rather avoid him. Do you think he'd like me better if I got him a cat? He said he used to have one called Sir Pounce-A-Lot. He must have been a very brave cat to be a knight. Now that I think about it, one of the other elves in the alienage told me her cat had kittens recently. I'll ask him about it when I see him again... You'd think after living in this place for a few years I'd have fixed all the leaks, but new ones pop up all the time! Like the rat holes. I can never find all of them. Well I'd better go patch the leak up, so until next time!
