CHARACTERISTICS
Appearance: Tall for a dwarven woman, though not so much as to be unusual, Hildred shares the strong, stocky build common to all dwarves. Her flaming red hair is all that really sets her apart, long, thick and wavy despite the taint which plagues the people of Kal Sharok. She is very pale, and because of the taint her veins are very dark and faintly visible beneath her skin, lending her an unsettling sort of ethereal beauty.

HISTORY
Like most dwarves of Kal Sharok, the Taint made it difficult for Hildred's parents to conceive. So it was that, by the time she was born, she had a four-year-old foster brother already living at home. Being so much younger, Hildred looked up to Lyulf as though he were a paragon and trained hard to become as great a warrior as she thought him to be.
Being locked away in safety when the darkspawn attacked rankled, especially when Lyulf was allowed to join in combat. Every dwarf who could fight was needed against the darkspawn, so when she was sent to the inner halls during a particularly harsh battle when she was fifteen she armed and armoured herself to join the fighting. She carried herself well, and after that battle she officially became a warrior of Kal Sharok.
Fighting often at Lyulf's side, her feelings for him slowly grew to something more. Then, when she was nineteen, the darkspawn came as never before. Daily attacks had the dwarves staggered, their ranks thinning rapidly, their leaders - including Hildred's parents - falling one after another. There were whispers of fleeing to the surface, but as their warriors continued to lose ground Lyulf and Hildred took swift action, leading their troops to a great victory - though it nearly cost Lyulf his life.
Weakened by his injuries Lyulf fell ill and, believing himself near death, finally confessed his own feelings for Hildred. She was overjoyed to know her love for him was returned and stubbornly refused to leave his side until he was well - by which time they had been chosen to be House Azagale's new representatives in the Assembly. With this new influence, Lyulf and Hildred led Kal Sharok to victory after victory and the Assembly quickly voted to make them Kal Sharok's first new king and queen since Orzammar had closed it's doors to them centuries before.
On the day they were crowned, given the titles High Lord and Lady, they were also married. Together as both husband and wife and High Lord and Lady Lyulf and Hildred led Kal Sharok into a golden age, the darkspawn quieter than ever before. Lyulf led an expedition into the Deep Roads himself, bringing back reports of a strange creature leading a host of talking darkspawn. Hildred immediately ordered precautions be taken and more expeditions sent, but the darkspawn were still oddly silent. Glad for the respite, Kal Sharok has now turned to rebuilding, though it yet remains vigilant in its war against the darkspawn.
