Orzammar
When Bhelen became king, he ruled as a reformist and worked to strengthen Orzammar`s connection with the surface world. He offered the casteless greater rights and privileges in exchange for military service against the darkspawn, which allowed Orzammar to reclaim lost territory. Its policy angered the warrior and the noble caste and after several attempts on his life, Bhelen dissolved the Assambly and ruled alone with his new wedded wife Rica who became his Queen.
After eight years Bhelen was assassinated by the angry nobles and warriors, and today the opinion about him is divided as to whether he should be remembered as a tyrant or a progressive ruler. What followed next was that Rica Aeducan became the new Queen Regent and a civil war erupted among the dwarves once again, a war which would determine the future King or Queen.

What followed next was that Rica Aeducan became the new Queen Regent and a civil war erupted among the dwarves once again, a war which would determine the future King or Queen.
House Aeducan
House Aeducan is one of the leading dwarven houses, and many recent kings of Orzammar have come from its ranks. As with all dwarven houses, House Aeducan came into being when its founding member was made a Paragon. Aeducan was made a Paragon for leading the dwarven armies against the darkspawn during the First Blight. It is tradition for a new house to found a new thaig, or settlement, in the Deep Roads. Aeducan Thaig was close to Orzammar and was one of the last to be lost to the darkspawn. It has recently been rediscovered by the Aeducan family.
Queen Rica Aeducan:
Used to be a casteless but bore Bhelen a son. She is the mother to Endrin, became wife and Queen to Bhelen. After Bhelen`s death, Rica came to love Piotin, and she now rules as Queen Regent.
Prince Endrin Aeducan:
Son of Bhelen and Rica, currently ten years old.
Piotin Aeducan:
Bhelen/Trian cousin. Became Rica`s lover after Bhelen`s death.
House Harrowmont
House Harrowmont was one of the oldest noble houses of the dwarves, as old as Orzammar itself. Once Bhelen became king most of the members of House Harrowmont were killed, now only one remain.
Lord Renvil Harrowmont:
Nephew of Lord Pyral Harrowmont, and a former member of the Noble Caste, forced to flee Orzammar. Lives now on Rivain.
House Ivo
House Ivo appears to be one of the lesser Warrior Houses of Orzammar, being described as "relatively inconsequential" by Gorim. The house's brothers Wojech and Frandlin, are taking bold steps to boost their house's power and influence, such as competing in the Provings, participating in Deep Roads military expeditions, and making backroom political alliances. Once Bhelen became king, House Ivo got elevated. Today they still serve house Aeducan as one of their greatest military leaders.
Lord Wojech Ivo:
Lord Ivo's son and Frandlin's older brother. A master-at-arms who has competed in the Provings honoring King Endrin in the name of his new political ally, Bhelen. Became the new patriarch after lord Ivo died.
Frandlin Ivo:
Lord Ivo's son and Wojech's younger brother.
Loilinar Ivo:
A warrior more eager to gossip with strangers and swap insults with dwarves that he knows can't fight back rather than accomplishing anything meaningful for his house.
House Bemot
House Bemot is one of the dwarven noble houses. As with all dwarven houses, House Bemot came into being when its founding member was made a Paragon. Bemot was a commoner who became both paragon and king in one vote from the Assembly. He ruled Orzammar during the Fourth Blight and disbanded the Assembly for two years, establishing the precedent that the Warrior Caste answers directly to the king in times of war. Today it stands allied with the warriors and nobles who wants the Assembly back and the Aeducan gone.
Lord Doran Bemot:
Second son of Almer and Paeda Bemot, younger brother to Hendal Bemot and older brother to Althild, Natia and Aller Bemot. Became patriarch after Almer Bemot died in the civil war.
Althild Bemot:
Firstborn daughter to Almer and Paeda Bemot, younger sister to Hendal and Doran Bemot, older sister to Natia and Aller Bemot.
Aller Bemot:
Younger son of the head of House Bemot.
House Dace
House Dace is one of the dwarven noble houses of Orzammar. House Dace seems to be one of the more influential houses of Orzammar, as evidenced by both Lord Pyral Harrowmont's and Prince Bhelen Aeducan's need for House Dace's vote in the Assembly. Stands strongly against House Aeducan.
Lady Dace:
Daughter of Lord Anwer. Before Bhelen dissolved the Assambly she used to serve as House Dace's deshyr. After Anwer died in the war she became the new Matriarch of her house.
Lord Ronus Dace:
Serves as House Dace's representative.
House Helmi
House Helmi is one of the dwarven noble houses of Orzammar. House Helmi seems to be one of the more influential houses of Orzammar, as evidenced by both Lord Harrowmont's and Prince Bhelen's need for House Helmi's vote in the Assembly. In the epilogue of Awakening, it is House Helmi that spearheads the dwarven effort to clear Kal'Hirol and the Deep Roads connecting it to Orzammar of darkspawn, reclaiming the ancient thaig for the dwarves once and for all. Today it stands with House Aeducan, but has a few members who dislike the situation.
Lord Denek Helmi:
Son of Lady Helmi and apparent patriarch, used to serve as House Helmi`s deshyr representive in the Assembly. Denek has very liberal, forward-thinking ideas about the dwarven caste system which has earned him the ire of many of the other nobles, and thus he now stand with House Aeducan who shares the same ideals he has.
Lady Adal Helmi:
One of house Helmi`s greatest warriors who has fought in many Provings, it was she who lead a party to retake Kal`Hirol and she now serves there as its governor.
Nerav Helmi:
Nerav used to be a strong supporter of Harrowmont and her knowledge about other houses has earned her a high posistion among her kin. she dislikes House Aeducan and now stands allied with the other nobles in hope of reastablishing the Assembly to its former glory.
House Clangdrol
House Clangdrol belongs to the Noble caste and has since the death of Bhelen been uniting the warrior caste. Today it has the greatest dwarven army in Orzammar and stands as a direct threat to everyone.
Lord Kynrik Clangdrol:
Lord Kynrik may hold the strongest claim on becoming the new King of Orzammar, controlling the largest army. He is a just and an honorable man, but believes himself to be the savior of Orzammar.
House Gustrik
House Gustrik belongs to the warrior caste and is a sworn ally to House Kynrik.
Lord Quennar Gustrik:
Lord Quennar is a rash dwarf who believes he can backstab Lord Kynrik when the opportuntiy presents itself, but like Kynrik he wishes to see Orzammar saved.
