Beneath the Atlantic ocean lies the city of Rapture: a utopia dedicated to the self, free from government and religion. The city flourished under the watchful eyes of Andrew Ryan, founder of the underwater utopia, but a rift between social classes was beginning to form between the lower class and the upper class. Among the classes unrest, many became anxious, now isolated under the sea, which left Ryan to hire psychiatrist Dr. Lamb to help the citizens cope. A year later, however, a ground-breaking discovery changed Rapture forever, opening a whole new door of science—genetic modification. With ADAM, new products allowed the citizens of Rapture to wield impossible abilities through the use of plasmids, to make themselves stronger and smarter through tonics, but it wouldn't be without repercussions such as insanity and hallucinations with too much splicing. As if this wasn't enough, years later Ryan suspected the creator of these plasmids, Frank Fontaine, of creating a smuggling ring and other illegal activities. Between Ryan, Lamb, and Fontaine, the tension between social classes, and spliced up citizens, Rapture is spiraling into madness. It's 1958 and civil war is only around the corner. The question you should now be asking yourself is: what will you be fighting for?
