"To the void with it ALL!"
Cullen cried out in anger as he tossed a load of paperwork onto his desk and then cursed all the more when it knocked what was already there on the floor. He kept up with the paperwork quite easily since that was the least complex thing about his job right now. A Knight Commander was supposed to be so much more than a deskjob but this part seemed to be the only thing he could progress in. Anything else either went wrong or had no impact what so ever. Templars had no grip on the world any more. He was beginning to think they were quickly becoming obsolete.
On top of that, his officers were slowly dropping like flies. They either died or in Briana's case...ran off to a better life. He could hardly blame her but he couldn't help but feel hurt about the situation. Where was her sense of duty?
He'd narrowed her successor down to just one person now and he was expecting her at any minute. The only problem he had with that was that he'd forgotten that little detail.
He scooped up all the paperwork, made sure it was in order and set it out neatly, ready to be filed.
He then took a deep breath and did what any respectable Templar would do in times like this. He prayed.
"Oh Maker, Oh blessed Andraste, please hear my prayer. I am doing all I can in this world but nothing seems to change. While things don't seem to be getting worse, they do not seem to be getting better either. May my new Knight-Captain, Lucina Custodia be better than the last. I cannot go on knowing the Templar presence here is doing nothing. I beg you to please tell me if I am doing this right or not. I am lost when a commander should not be lost. Help me. Give me strength."
