CHARACTERISTICS

Appearance: Istorvir cuts a striking figure in his black leather armor, yet the rest of his attire is ragged and simple with little sentimentalities or embellishments. A warrior at heart, Istorvir is always ready to leap into combat which shows through his alert posture, that of a skilled dualist or long distance runner. An outdoors man, Istorvir brings the smell of woods with him wherever he goes and does little to make himself presentable to so called ”civilized” folk. On top of his armor and clothing there’s normally a hooded cloak, party for rough weather and partly for anonymity. That along with a half face mask hides quite a handsome man with very sharp features, a pointed jaw and high cheekbones, this would make his elven heritage hard to disguise for most but Istorvir knows how to disappear.

He can utilize his surroundings and disguise himself to truly blend with environments, whenever he needs to go off on his own he usually takes on the guise of a poor traveler which allows him to go unnoticed in most human areas. His vallaslin isn't as appearant as it is with other dalish, the elven patterns starts around his chest and ascends up to his neck, the blood writing can easily be covered by a high collar if need be. The first, and sometimes only thing you see of him is his piercing silver grey eyes, intense like those of a hawk. Istorvir has short jet black hair with bangs falling ever so slightly over his eyes and certain ones to the side framing his face. He stands taller than most elves but is always a tad bit shorter than the average human. His body is lithe and slightly muscular but it’s maintained for endurance rather than strength and is littered with scars from his bloody conquests across the south.

Personality: Istorvir might have been a tender soul once, but if so that person is long dead. His earliest clear memories are rife with rage and humiliation, oppression from the human overlords who ripped him from the dream that was the Dales. He feels extreme loyalty to his kin and naturally assumes all humans to be a threat. His distaste for the human race isn’t blind mind you, but Istorvir’s respect must be earned and thus far he is not impressed by the humans. He’s a hard elf to impress and can hold on to grudges for years. A sarcastic and cynical pragmatic, Istorvir believes that words alone are not enough to regain the affection of the Creators, that one must accomplish great deeds in order to gain Their attention. He has grown from the once infuriated elven youth into a more calm and collected persona. The cool air of control about him in even the most terrible of situations can seem unnerving to some but is for most evidence of his confidence and professionalism. Capable of wisdom and shrewdness beyond his years but at the same time great ruthlessness and occasional cruelty, Istorvir Ecthelion is said to possess both the best and worst traits of the elven race.
