CHARACTERISTICS
Appearance: Colette's most recognizable feature is often her over-the-top hair, a carefully constructed system of blond curls that hang over her shoulders. This often changes if she's disguising herself or her current objective seems a bit too dangerous for that particular haircut; Colette has always been quick with her hands, and can change up her hair and make-up quickly if need be. Her eyes are an exotic orange, complimented by red eyeliner. Her eyebrows, like her hair, have been carefully managed to be attractive but malleable in a pinch. Her lips are simple but accented with red lipstick. Colette's complexion is very pale, and riddled with freckles.
Height wise, she's short, barely the size of the average elf. Her weight, as you guess, is carefully maintained, so she's slim and very fit, in shape.
Personality: Colette can be best described as the small overlap of competency and naivety. She is easy to mold, and her willpower is next to nothing, but you'll have to fool her first and that isn't an easy task. She's very materialistic, appearance-focused (in regards to herself), and narrow-minded. She likes riches and status because she has been raised to believe that these are the defining features of great people, and hopes to gain such things herself. While she is quick to judge on status, her place as a disguise-artist has taught her that it is pointless to judge on appearance, so she never does; she does, however, take very careful care of her own appearance, so as to portray a status greater than her own. She was raised to believe a very loose version of the Chant of Light, like the common one but twisted a bit so to justify and glorify her job as an Assassin. Another aspect of her early childhood is the lesson of Orleisian superiority, which she believes in to an extent; Orleisians are GENERALLY better than foreigners, but there is plenty room for foreigners to rise above the Orleisian standard. Colette is a strong believer in making success and happiness for yourself in life.
HISTORY
Colette was born to a powerful noble family in Val Royeaux, but was quickly given away to a group of expert assassins and bards called the Harlequins, who operated out of small outposts and headquarters in the Dales. She was one of the few members taken in as part of a system where the Harlequins raise noble children to act like nobles but fight like assassins and think like bards; the idea is to strengthen a noble family and the Harlequins at the same time. As a security measure designed to protect the family, Colette was stripped of her family's name, not to be told of it until she has completed her training under the Harlequins and returned to that family. Until then, she was given the name "Bellamy", as were the other children taken into the program.
As she grew up she was taught a variety of skills. Proper etiquette, several minstrel songs and tales, backstabbing techniques, her way around a bow, how to be quick and dexterous with one's hands. Her passion was always disguise however, sparked by her intrigue in the trademark facepaint the active Harlequin agents wear. Through different combinations of make-up, hair style and acting, she learned to become a variety of different kinds of people.
Once her seventeenth birthday had passed, Colette began her final exam of sorts: several assassin missions spread across the year, success in which would mean she'd be returned to her family on her eighteenth birthday. Six months in she was a natural, her expertise in disguise coming in handy, she had a natural knack for assassination and enjoyed it. Most of the other Bellamy students weren't quite as lucky; six months into the exams only three were left, but this was a foreseen and expected outcome.
The first real bad news in Colette's life came one early morning when she returned to headquarters after her latest assassination, where she learned that Serenity, the head of the Bellamy program, had lost a Bard's Game to a noblemen named Gavon von Staton; her wager? The three surviving Bellamy students. So Colette was taken from her life as an assassin and as a noble to the Staton Estate in Val Royeaux, where she worked as a servant minstrel and mistress to von Staton, while the two other students, men, served as butlers and labor workers.
Her life of servitude was hardly a terrible one. She was fed, learned new musics, and lived luxuriously, but found herself bored and missing the thrill and danger of being an Assassin. When von Staton travelled to Kirkwall to provide personal funding for Templar activity, Colette gave him the slip and stowed away on a ship to Ferelden. Since then, she has lived in Denerim, living a life of thievery, murder and deception in an attempt to gather enough coin and status to return to Orlais and rejoin the Harlequins as a permanent member.

Roleplay Experience: I started role-playing in 2005 starting with semi-low quality script format role plays that I continued doing through 2009. In late 2009 I started role playing in paragraph format and in longer, more carefully crafted stories and have been doing so since. This will be my first venture into role playing in a world I had no part in making as well as role playing with a group larger than approx. eight people.

"As a teleporting spirit of smoke that regularly fights demons, it is hard to surprise Dusk, but he didn’t expect to find a secret lab hidden beneath his home that day. His friend and co-worker Klaus was a genius, if not ‘quirky’, and therefore had a lab to do his work in, but this was a second, much larger one set up with equipment Dusk didn’t even know the name of. Vials, syringes, operating tables stained with both blood and other unidentifiable fluids. All of it was illuminated by large, bright lamps, but left the entrance and corners of the room shrouded in contrasting shadows.
Hearing something shift from within that darkness, Dusk cautiously crept into it in order to investigate. He found a handful of cells lining the wall, they were little more than small cubes of thick bars of steel, possibly designed for animals. Only one was occupied, by what appeared to be a girl, who nearly filled the entirety of her cramped cage. Her head was adorned with a Mark of Cecilus, a demon, which Dusk recognized and knew that it implied the girl herself to be of satanic origin. Nonetheless, confused, and even more so curious, the boy approached the captive girl and asked, “Who are you?”"
