CHARACTERISTICS
Appearance: The first thing most people notice when they see the fiesty huntress, if they happen to get a good look at her at all, are her big, crystal blue eyes. After that, they notice the scar that runs down her left cheek, but if they've noticed that much of her then they're either extremely lucky (and soon to die), or she has decided to not kill them. Standing at roughly 5'5, she's got an athletic body type that has light curves and is mainly muscle. She is typically wearing the armor she herself has pieced together from tevinter soldiers, and gives her a wide range of movement in armor. Her long, blonde hair is typically very wavy and wild, yet is usually put up in a pony tail to keep it out of the way.
Personality: Very confident, some would say overly so, in her abilities and her tribe. Vesta is to be very blunt and strong willed, and when she has something to say she lets it known. Having lived in the wild jungles all her life, and as a result have few of the manners and civility of civilized peoples (much to the lament of her father and amusement of her grandfather and mother). She is bold, witty, and absolutely fearless. She is rarely seen without her companion, the tigress, Bellona, who she raised as a cub and has been a constant protector since the age of 13. Finally, she is an absolutely flirtatious young woman, who absolutely adores to mess with people of any sex and race (except kossith men. Because of reasons.), though it is a flirtation very much on her terms. If the other seems over-eager, she will lose interest rather rapidly.
HISTORY
Born in 9:21 DA, she is the product of the fighting that has been occurring on Seheron for decades. Her father, Maxiums Murcia, was a tevinter soldier who was gravely wounded in the fighting against the qunari in Seheron and left to die by his unit. Thankfully, after the battle fog warriors, including Vesta's mother, Yvon, were scouting the area and found him pressed against a tree, hanging onto what little shred of life he had. Brought back to life, he was absorbed into the tribe and quickly fell for the woman who saved him, though she proved to be rather strong willed. However, after time she fell for the tevinter, and they married a year after his arrival to the tribe. The reason Vesta was born in Alma was simply because they had been in the town to trade with local merchants (who don't complain when Fog Warriors bring them goods) when she underwent contractions and young Vesta was born.
Growing up the grand daughter of the chieftan, much was expected of her, but much was given as well. Her grandfather would often sit her on his lap and regale her for hours and hours about the histories of the fog warriors, and why Seheron needed to be free. As she got older, her mother taught her how to use a bow and track, and many of the secrets of deception and stealth her people had perfected over centuries. Her father taught her how to use blades, an artform Vesta delighted to partake in, and how to read, something Vesta found incredibly boring but she nonetheless listened to her father.
Childhood was a happy time for her. The tribe was regularly on the move, and it was an aspect of life she took in stride. She loved traveling, and with every new place they would grow in number as refugees from all races joined the group. The fact that so many willing joined the tribe delighted her, and added to the superiority complex she had slowly developed.
At the age of 13, the tribe was ambushed by qunari and scattered into the jungles. Vesta was hit on the cheek with a qunari arrow, and ran off into a cave, crying and praying for her mother and father to find her. Little did she know that the cave was a home to a great tigress, until she felt the warm, wet breathe from its nose on her back. She thought she was done for, but at that moment qunari charged into the cave. The tigress, thinking the qunari were going to attack her cubs, killed them, and then walked back to calmly kiss Vesta's wound, treating her like her own cub.
Two days later, Vesta's mother and father found her in the cave after the tribe re-organized, and Vesta ran into their arms smiling. The tigress did nothing, simply sat and purred as her cubs laid with her. As they left, they heard the tiny roar of one of the cubs who had followed them out of the cave, and Yvon immediately saw it as a sign for her young daughter to raise the cub, as the tigress had chosen to protect the young girl by sending one of her own. Max disagreed (being tevinter, he had a healthy fear of tigers), but Yvon won out.
Many years later, Vesta is now 19, and her tigress Bellona roughly six and fully grown. Now, she acts as a scout for the tribe, watching the movements on the roads, launching ambushes, and genuinely causing mayhem for all who dare enter their new territory. Seheron is their land. The qunari and Tevinters are merely invaders, false lords of the lands that belong to them, the Fog Warriors. Vesta has no problems in helping remind them of that.
