As the dust settled and the battle was over, Arcill stood among the dead, covered in blood from top to bottom, with sword firmly in hand. Screams of pain could be heard across the battlefield and everywhere one looked one could see the brutality in what had happened. The standing banners flickered in the wind, broken weapons and decapitated limbs were scattered. Upon the Brecillian Passage, the Ferelden army had been lured into an ambush, a massacre, with the false hope of safety, not knowing that their destination, which was the city Gwaren, had been sacked and burned in advance. It was the perfect plan; the Fereldens had underestimated the Barbarians, not knowing their numbers in the thick forest nor where they hid.
Unfortunately however, some enemies had managed to flee, although the concern about their survival was nothing major to worry about. Soon entire Ferelden would hear about their defeat and then they would take it seriously, perhaps even sending a larger force to meet them. No matter what they decided to do to counter the barbarian invasion, Arcill was confident in his army. Indeed they were savages, but strong and well trained, who quickly adapted to their surroundings and their rival`s tactics. Soon it would be time to march further, but first they needed rest and some more stratigic planning.
Next to where Arcill stood, laid the body of his close friend Muire, who had died in battle by the hands of Teyrn Landon. It had been a duel Arcill had missed to witness, until the very end when she died. Although in rage the fearless barbarian leader had stormed forward and in revenge he had claimed the Teyrn`s life, whom now also laid next to Arcill on the other side. Trying to calm down after the heat of battle, sadness begun to build up in his mind, though no tears fell for the female kossith he had known, as the Avvars rarely showed any such sign of emotions. Instead he remained silent, looking down at Muire, knowing little that the cause of her death was mostly due to a wound he himself had inflicted on her during practice.
Turning the attention from Muire to Landon, anger returned, and as he suddenly raised his sword above the head, he unleashed a fury where he hacked the Teyrn`s head off, separating it from the body in a most horrific sight. Then as he grabbed the hair of the head, he lifted it up for all to see and with a roar he claimed his victory, which expressed his sorrow and the joy of winning.

living is easy with eyes closed - - - - misunderstanding all you see - - - -
The trees towered around the young woman and caused her eyes to widen as she walked. What beautiful things these were; trees. She felt as if she were in a permanent state of awe. The sunlight slithered its way in between the leaves and branches, resting its warms in Edelis cheeks. Her dull armor reflected the light, causing her to glow. The light breeze made the heat bearable, but she was raised in the depths of Orzammar, surrounded by fountains of lava below her feet. What a sweet scent this air had. Not musky or metallic, but clean and moist. She let her hands run across the trunks of the trees, the bark rough under her calloused fingertips.
But as she aimlessly wandered she found the air much more stagnant. It smelled of copper and death. She slipped her gloves back on and unsheathed her battle axe. It stood as tall as her but she carried it by her side with ease. She always felt uneasy in new places, but she was not one to run away at the chance of an altercation. It wasn't until she saw the pools of blood that she began to hesitate. She had wandered so far that she wan't sure she could find her way back at this point. She had assumed, as she had done through out the parts of Ferelden she had ventured, that she would simply pass through.
It wasn't until now that she realized this may not be the case.
