Timeline

This timeline shows a list of events that has taken place in Thedas since the end of Dragon Age 2, feel free to add more major events here as we go on.

Note: The calendar in Thedas consists of twelve thirty-day months. Four annums—annual holidays—split the year, signifying the transition between seasons. A fifth annum celebrates the start of a new year. Annums are not associated with months. Although each month has a name in the language of Ancient Tevinter, the people of Ferelden commonly use the "low" names. The Tevinter names are listed first, followed by the more common name for the month.

The system was developed in the early years of the Tevinter Imperium and was influenced by the elves.

9:37 Dragon:
An apostate mage named Anders destroys Kirkwall`s chantry, igniting the Battle of Kirkwall, and becomes an inspiration for rebellious mages throughout Thedas.

The Champion of Kirkwall kills First Enchanter Orsino and Knight-Commander Meredith during the Battle of Kirkwall. The Champion later flees the city.

The Collage of Magi in Cumberland is closed down by the Templars, out fear due to talk of uprising, security in all circles increases.

9:38 Dragon:
King Alistair, with the help of Isabela and Varric Tethras, travels to Antiva City, Tevinter and Par Vollen, looking for clues regarding King Maric's ultimate fate.

9:38-9:39 Dragon:
Discontent with Empress Celene I's reign sparks a civil war in Orlais.

Senior Enchanter Wynne sends out a letter to all Andrastian lands detailing a cure for Tranquil mages.

The Collage of Enchanters meets again under observation of the Templars, but because of certain incidents they are all imprisoned. With assistance from the White Divine herself, they escape the White Spire. Wynne is killed by Lord Seeker Lambert.

Grand Duke Gespard crowns himself Emperor after a successful campaign against the Empress, Celene flees to Ferelden, but is rumored to be dead or imprisoned in Orlais.

At Andoral`s Reach the Mages gather and there they complete their conclave by voting on a separation from the Chantry, declaring war. Meanwhile the Circle of Dairsmuid in Rivain has been annulled.

Riots in Perendale causes Nevarran oppressors to abandon the city.

9.40 Dragon

First Day (annum) : During the first holiday of the year, visits would be paid to one's neighbors and family. In remote areas, it used to be a practice to make sure everyone was alive.

First Month: Verimensis / Wintermarch (January)

• Lord Seeker Lambert declares the Nevarran accord null and void, separating the Templars and the Seekers from the Chantry, reestablishes the Inquisition.
  

Annum: Wintersend

Second Month: Pluitanis / Guardian (February)

• A boundary set by the Templars is placed around Andoral`s Reach, which closes the mages in.
  

Third Month: Nubulis / Drakonis (March)

• Cassandra and Leliana investigate clues about the Champion in Kirkwall, on behalf of the White Divine.
  

Fourth Month: Eluviesta / Cloudreach (April)

• The Avvars and Chasind unite under Arcill`s leadership.
  

Annum: Summerday

Fifth Month: Molioris / Bloomingtide (May)

• The Templars lay siege on Andoral`s Reach. (Yet to be made)
  
• Emperor Gespard begins his travel to Antiva.
  

Sixth Month: Ferventis / Justinian (June)

• The Avvars and Chasind begin their invasion of Ferelden; a portion of Dalish Elves joins them on their way to the Bracillian Forest.
  

Seventh Month: Solis / Solace (July)

• Gespard visits Kirkwall.
  
• King Alistair begins his journey north to Anderfels by ship; Queen Anora remains in Ferelden as regent.
  

Annum: Funalis
The Grand Tourney begins in Cumberland, Emperor Gespard gathers information about Nevarra and David becomes the Champion.

Eighth Month: Matrinalis / August (August)

• Emperor Gespard arrives Val Chevin with his champion.
  
• Landon and Teagan rides out with a force to meet the Barbarians, they are ambushed on the Brecillian Passage. Teyrn Landon and Muire is killed in battle. Gwaren is sacked and burned to the ground.
  

Ninth Month: Parvulis / Kingsway (September)

• The Siege of Jader begins.
  
• The Orlesian Invasion of Nevarra begins; armies are launched from the cities Val Chevin and Montfort. Battle of Sanglante Pont is fought.
  

Tenth Month: Frumentum / Harvestmere (October)

Annum: Satinalia

Eleventh Month: Umbralis / Firstfall (November)
