APPLICATION
I did not intend for things to happen as they are but I would not change things for all the gold in all of Thedas. You cannot make an omelette without breaking eggs and so you cannot make progress without losing a few lives. I do not know the outcome of this war but I will not allow myself or my people to back down and give up without a fight.
We are capable of looking after ourselves. We do not need the templars and the chantry does not show us in the correct light. Like all people of Thedas there are both good people and bad people in our ranks. Templars and The Chantry only judge us by our bad and for that they cannot be forgiven. We are people and must be treated as such. Whatever the cost we must become people and not animals to be feared.
We just need to hold on, soon they will see, soon they will accept and soon we will be valued members of society as we should be.
And if not? Then at least we attempted to fight for what is right.
Perhaps I'm going about this the wrong way. I was once a Grey Warden among other things. I once loved, I once lost and now all I have left is my position and cause. I will do right by all mages. Far too many have lives like mine but so many aren't lucky enough to be free of it.
But despite all this, I do not want another Tevinter for they too have descended into the chaos of superiority. I don't seek to be better than everyone else nor do I think we mages should rule above those without magic. I merely wish for equality. A world where we are all the same. Is that so much to ask?
If only I could make them see, make them understand. If a war will fix this, how can I back down now? I have a plan and I must stick to it. We are too far gone to back out now. So be it, the die is cast. May the best person win.
