Arley had been walking through Kirkwall for a few hours, taking in the sights, stopping in the local taverns, socializing with the towns peiple. He prefered to be on the waterfront, he grew up in a port town, so he liked being there. Hr didn't mind the rest of the city, but here he could help the people.
Arley walked down a street to his faveroite corner-side pub, he saw two templars as he walked to the door, he disregarded them and walked in. He sat down at a stool closest to the bar and ordered a drink. He looked around and saw a Mage he had seen around but never really talked to. He remembered the Templars he saw on his way in, he figured he would keep an eye on him to be safe.
The mage was a tad drunk and talking about killing Templars and his views on the war. He didn't realize that there where two outside, probably waiting for him. Arley took a few more drinks and was done. He waited for the Mage leave the pub.
Arley watched the man closely, and followed him out of the pub, he lagged behind to avoid being spotted. And, he was right the templars where waiting for that Mage. Arley followed them into a small dingy back alley. There they tried to abduct the Mage. Arley sprung into action. He unsheathed his daggers and ran to help the mage. One ofthe Templars saw him and tried swinging his abnormally large sword a Arley's head, he ducked quickly and stabbed one of the open spots in his armor, hittimg his gut. The other Templar had the Mage on the ground an gh turned to see what had happend, he ran with and tried to stab him but was knocked down, the Mage ran away but the Templars sword was pointed at Arley's throat, not his..

Faedin was walking though the streets of Kirkwall, he heard the fighting, but assumed it was nothing. As he walked calmly passed the pub, he sees the Mage; running like his life depended on it. This is when he got interested. The Mage was fast so he didn't bother chasing him. He turns down the way the Mage came from, and sees the templar with his sword on a mans throat. He walks calmly up behind them, Arley can, obviously, see him.
Faedin walks up behind the templar. He raises his hand and with a small blue flash, forms 7 pointed ice darts floating around his head in an arch, all aimed at the templar's back. He looks over the group and sees another templar, bleeding. He focuses back on the templar with his sword on Arley's throat. Six of the darts shoot forward straight into the templar's back, the other flew into his sword throwing it away so it wouldn't land on Arley's head.
The templars body collapses from the blows. Faedin smirks and turns on his heel. He begins to walk away feeling like his job was completed.

Arley saw the Elf save his life, the ice darts was a good move. He never saw that before. Magic is amazing.. He thought, as he stood to speak to his savior. The man had started walking away. Arley picked up his daggers and walked after the man.
"Hey wait, atleast let me say thanks!" Shouted Arley catching up with him. "I liked how you did that the darts, great idea, are you an apostate?" He asked looking at the elf, He sheathed the daggers. "Let me buy you a drink, sorry I talk alot," Arley said smiling. He had always been a talker, he never knew why,but the people he hung around with where the same way.
He was lucky to had been saved he didnt know what the templars would have done, he was luck there was a war going on, or it might have been worse for him. "Thanks for saving my life."

While Faedin was walking away he breifly says "It's my job and yes I am an apostate." Faedin glances back at Arley. "And you do talk alot." He passes the pub and says "I don't need to draw attention to myself." They walk towards the gate. Faedin, after a long time of silence says, "I dont save lives, I kill templars."
Faedin leaves Kirkwall and moves north to a small campsite he hid and calls his own. He set down some food he bought and lights a fire. He cooks a meal for himself and Arley, and then leans against a tree stump. He pulls a dusty old book out of his pack and flips through it.

Arley followed the man past the pub. He was distant, didnt seem to talk much, he commented on the fact Arley talks alot, he smiled, as he knew it was true. "It wouldnt have drawn attention, I know that bar well, only rarely do Templars show up around there," Arley said, but it didnt matter as he was being led out of Kirkwall.
He said he didnt save lives, he kills templars, disregarding Arley's thanks. This annoyed Arley a little but itdidnt matter. "Well, you cant fight them all on your own, you will die. It would be nice to have some friends wouldn't it?" Arley chuckled over his annoyence.
He followed the Elf to a little campsite outside of Kirkwall. He started making food, and reading a book. "What are you reading? And what's your name by the way?"

Faedin spoke little while reading his book. When Arley spoke of fighting templars alone, it struck him that Arley was right. The templars would eventually come in larger numbers and overwhelm him. He shruged when Arley had finished that question, though it was still an undecided matter.
When Arley asked about the book, he put it away. "I.. found it." He said simply. "Its a book of ancient spells, one of which, you have seen." "And for the matter of my name, I have none." Faedin seemed happy with his answers and looked at Arley to see his own reply. "And what is your name?"

"Well I'm not a Mage, and I dont read much so I probably havent seen it before," said Arley. He said he had no name, which made absolutley no sense at all. "I highly doubt you have no name, apostate," Arley smiled.
If he had no name, Arley would work with that, but he would make the Elf open up, because he wouldnt last long by himself, even if he had magic.
"Look you must realize that you wont last long here alone, your going to need friends, or atleast, some sort of allies, the cities Templars are ruthless, and will hunt you untill you are caught, and if they dont know about you they soon will," Arley was sincear, only because he fought for the Mages, and this man saved his life.
"My name? Oh I have none," Arley chuckled. "My name is Arley Voegeli of Ferelden."

Faedin ignores his first comment about his disbelief of not having a name. In truth, he was still deciding on a name away from his family. Faedin shakes his head at Arley's next comment on the templars. "They are weak, and blind."
Arley's comment on his name, angered Faedin. "You mock me?" he said angrily rising from his seated position. "You say your name, Arley, and yet you do not know me." Faedin walks slowly around the fire over to Arley. Looking down over him, his face shadowed by his hood, he asks simply and to the point: "Why? Are you a templar spy? A set up to catch me?" Faedin's eyes begin to glow a light blue, and markings on his face have a feint glow as well.

"Ha! Weak and blind? Maybe blind but definantly not weak, they imprisined yiu mages for years and now you finially pull yourselves out and fight back, is that weakness? I dont think so," Arley argued.
Arley saw his anger, he smiled as the magic surged through Faedins body. "Not mocking you, I was joking, I suggest you settle down before you get hurt, and no" Arley stood, "I am no spy, before you saved me I killed a Templar to save an apostate like yourself" said Arley, putting a hand on his dagger im case of an attack.

Faedin turned away from Arley, "They did not imprison EVERY mage. Nor will they try again. The Circle has failed, the Templars will lose this war, and they will suffer. Suffer from the same containment my kin had to endure. And they will suffer generation to generation. Or I will die trying." He glanced back at Arley and notices his hand on the dagger.
He turns back to face Arley. "The only one going to get hurt, is you. I do not wish to hurt one who helped an apostate. But if you so much as think about drawing that blade, you will find yourself no different from the templars." His glowing blue eyes narrowed on him. "So, 'Arley'. If you are not here to spy on me and return to your templar commander, then what is it you want from me? Or is it back to your original statement of: I won't be able to hold my own forever?"

"No, not every mage, but still a whole lot, did you know there fifteen circles of magi? And the ones who are tranquil?"
"Well you saved my life, weather you look at it that way or not, I wanted to buy you a drink because you seem interesting. And no, you wont hold your own for long by yourself, frankly neither will I." Arley took his hand off of his dagger "I wouldnt attack you unless you attacked me first."
The elf had to know Arley was right, they werent going to last long by killing Templars by themselves. "Look, all I'm saying is that they controlled lots of aspects of people's lives for so long, so obviously they aren't that weak. Maybe it would be nice to have some one to travel with also."

Faedin noded. "The templar's reign ends now." His tattoos which were glowing are now fading and he eyes are no longer glowing. "You aren't a mage, and yet you hate the templars?"
In the meantime, Faedin was thinking about having a companion. He agreed with himself that it would be annoying at first, having to cover for two people, but it may work. Faedin inspected Arley, from under his hood. He noded slowly to himself, but didn't voice his thoughts.

" I agree. Their reign is over," Arley was ready for war against the Templars, he hated them. "No I am not a mage, but, by no means are their actions justifiable, and I'm a Grey Warden, my mentor, who also was, was killed by Templars. She was my best friend, she was like my mother," Arley said trying to hold in his anger.
"You may have your doubts about me, but, I am capable, more than you know, I drank Darkspawn blood," Arley laughed covering up how he felt. "That, and I dont fancy dying anytime soon, nor do I think you do either," Arley was right about that no one wants to be killed by Templars.
"So, make your choice, we're better off together than alone," Arley put his hand out in allegence

Faedin was much interested in the fact that Arley is a Grey Warden. "A Grey Warden? You shouldn't find hatred for the Templars should you? You are peacekeepers. You have no part in thi-" When Faedin heard of his mentor being killed, he quickly shut up. He sat down by his bag and stayed silent for some time. He was reminded of his goal, for all his suffering and the suffering of his mother.
When he regained his mind a few minutes later, he looked up and saw Arley with his hand out to him. From under his hood, he smiled. In truth he didn't like being alone, but he also knew he should trust none. He took his hand and shook it firmly. "Welcome to my humble camp Arley Voegeli of Ferelden. The templars truly have something to worry about now."

"Yes we are peacekeepers, but after my mentor and Father where killed, I decided to fight for the Mages, their motives are atleast true, well your motives," Arley was ready to finially have a companion.
It was nice to not be alone, and when Faedin grabbed his hand he felt good about this allegience. "Well thanks, its good to be here, but seriously, why wont you tell me your name?" Arley asked.
