The Hinterlands, Arley was not used to the lands that housed Redcliffe, he was told by the Warden-Commander, that he was to meet another Warden in Redcliffe and investigate a farm about 50 miles north-east of Redcliffe. It would be a long journey and Arley commanded that no one other than a Warden following him, he didn't want the guards and soliders to get corrupted, no man should have to die that way.
Arley decided to wait at the tavern to meet his partner. He sulked through Redcliffe, it was a nice place. Children playing, dogs barking, you see people purchasing veggies from the stalls. He blended in like anyone else, his head was down and his hood up so you couldn't see his face. He sighed, he was depressed, things were just going wrong, and he couldn't figure out why. One of the only women that he ever took interest in is gone, he wanted to find her but he had a duty to uphold. Also, he wasn't being a Grey Warden, he was letting his political views on the War affected his Wardenship, he knew when he saw the Commander that he was not happy with him. Arley was a good man, and an even better Warden, so he got do punishment, but he knew if he overstepped his bound once more there would be consiqunces.
He was feeling low the past few days, he wasn't being his usual happyself, he also had no friends which made things worse, he knew a few people and had some contacts here and there, but no one he would call a friend. No one to talk to. He arrived at the Tavern and sat lowly in the seat. He ordered a cup of vodka and water from the bar man. He took a sip and waited, his Warden companion would find him eventually, plus they can sense eachother so they should have no difficulty. Thats what he would do, he would wait, no formal greetings or anything. Usually Arley would wait and greet them upon entry, but today he didn't it was only about noon; they would talk to the suvivor at the Chantry and then they would leave to the farm. Arley had it all planned out....Or atleast he thought he did.

Ah, the Hinterlands. It had been quite a while since Rawen had set foot here. The last time she had ever really been here, was when she was still with the Clan, and they were migrating through the Hinterlands. Ahh, how she missed her Clan. But, she felt she couldn't go back there...she wanted to, but now she couldn't. Rawen was a Warden now. She often questioned why she became one, but did not regret her choice entirely. It made no difference where she was. In the Clan, she felt distant and isolated. In the Wardens? The Dalish Elf still felt the same. At least she could be doing some sort of good.
She had been informed that she was to meet up with another Warden. Something about an attack on a farmstead around Redcliffe. Rawen accepted the orders without complaint. After all, what better had she to do? And, she would get to be up and moving. She had been growing far too restless, and was grateful to be doing something practical.
Rawen ended up reaching a small settlement, a good distance away from the objective. She could feel the distant energy of the Warden she had been partnered with. Sadly, she did not remember which one she was meeting...her memory was a bit tricky lately, and she felt guilty she didn't retain such simple information.
The elf made her way towards a tavern, ignoring the puzzled looks others gave her as they passed. It wasn't often there was a lone elf wandering around, let alone a particularly small, female elf at that. But, she was dressed in the attire of the Gray Wardens, so perhaps that was what kept her from receiving rude comments to her face.
Rawen pushed open the door to the tavern, and scanned the area for her partner. She pinpointed his location in the bar and walked over, plopping herself down beside him, quickly ordering just a simple water from the bar-keep. Rawen turned to her fellow Warden, and she formed a small smile, trying to be polite. Truthfully, she always had a sense of wariness around Shemlens. But, this Shem was alright from what Rawen had seen. She had seen him numerous times around Vigil's Keep, though this was the first time the two had been paired up for something. What was his name again? Artie? No. Arley? That sounded about right.
"Interesting choice for a rendezvous point, don't you think Arley?" Rawen said with a small smirk. Ok so...what's the plan?" She asked, sipping at her water thoughtfully.

Arley had sensed the presence of his partner, and she was walking into the tavern. It was Rawen, a Dalish Elf, he had seen her at the Keep before. They have met once or twice but he didn't know her well. She sat down and spoke to him, he turned his attention to her. "Oh, sorry...I just needed a drink. I should have greeted you at the bridge, but I am not my usual self, and for that, I apologize," Arley had felt bad about not being as nice as he usually was, but he had somethings going on in his life.
He stared at the elf, he eyes were big and beautiful, and they hid any trace of Arley being able to read her. He had always liked elves, personally. Especially the women they were exotic to him, and more down-to-earth than his human counterparts. To Arley, a man was just a man, he understood them, as he was one himself, but women were all but a mystery to him. He had an attraction to Elven women and most thought him strange for it. Finially he caught himself, "Sorry...I dont mean to offend you by staring, but your eyes....They are magnificent." Arley said under his hood, he took another drink of his vodka. She had probably heard that from other men, but Arley ment it, not that he was trying to hit on her, he was just stating a fact.
Depression did not serve Arley well, he felt...strange, he felt alone. Maybe all Wardens felt like this at times but he didn't know. "My apologies, anyway, would you like to go to the Chantry and talk to this person so we can get going?" Arley wanted to be away from the city, eventhough he loved it, for some reason he just wanted out. He was ready to stop sulking and go and do something.

Rawen twirled the glass of water in her hands slightly. She had only been in taverns about two or three times ever. The elven girl didn't have much interest in drinking as other Shemlens and Elves. The alcoholic drinks were too strong for her personally, and she preferred the clean taste of water.
She smiled reassuringly to her partner. "No need to apologize. We all have those moments in our lives.". Rawen nodded in understanding. There were times where she didn't feel like herself either, so she could relate.
Rawen's eyes light hazel eyes widened somewhat at the compliment. For whatever reason, humans particularly loved elven eyes. They were much...brighter than a human's, that she did notice. Other than that, she was always bewildered when she received a compliment on her eyes.
"Oh, ma serannas. Thank you." Rawen said, genuinely surprised, yet appreciative of the Warden's words. Truthfully, she was use to getting stares. So long as they weren't mean, or judgmental stares, it was alright. "No harm done. No need to apologize." She gave another little smiles and pushed her hair back behind her shoulders. "That's...a nice hood you have." Rawen said with a small sheepish grin, feeling like she should say something back. It was polite to humans to do so right?
Rawen took another thoughtful sip of her water. She was still learning what she can, and can't do in human society. The Dales were so much different from the Shemlens, and it was hard knowing what she was supposed to do.
"Well, the sooner we talk to this person, the quicker we can start moving. I hate sitting still for too long." She grinned and stood up. "Come on then, we haven't got all day now have we?" Rawen said with a light laugh, gently tugging at her companion's arm before she headed towards the door.

"Your welcome," He said. Arley laughed at he comment about the hood, she was clearly Dalish, he bad social graces, but he thought it was cute. It lightend his mood when she started talking to him, she was cheerful and it was really uplifting. "Thank you, I always wear it, so if I get in trouble I'm just a random hooded man, but thank you for being so polite." He thanked her, she had very good manners, most Dalish didn't like Arley even if they knew he was a Grey Warden.
Finially she stood up and was ready to go, she tugged his arm and he got up and followed her out of the door. They walked out of the tavern into the sun, "We need to head to the Chantry and talk to the suvivor, they may have some information on what happened, this is strange darkspawn shouldn't be this far up in Ferelden, something weird is going on.." Arley pondered, in the last blight the darkspawn came from the Korcari Wilds. They would figure it out soon, he hoped that person had some info for them, he didnt fancy going in blind.
"So, I hope this isn't to personal, but how did you become a Warden?" He hadn't met many Dalish Grey Wardens, most of the ones he'd met were very skilled. He was happy also to have another Warden with him and not someone who could be corrupted, its horrible to see how quickly the taint could comsume everything.

It was strange how unusually cheery with Arley. Rawen had a natural caution towards humans, men especially. They had affected her as a child, changed her life dramatically when she had been so young. Perhaps it was knowing that Arley was a Warden like her, who was bound to the same Code as she was. The Wardens were her family now, though they could never fill the hole in her heart like the Clan could. Creators know she missed them dearly.
The Dalish woman was a little bewildered when Arley laughed at her comment about his hood. Had that been too silly of a comment? Was it the wrong one? Her cheeks turned slightly pink with embarrassment. Ahh, abelas. My apologies. That was a silly thing to say." She said with a nervous giggle. "I suppose it is a good cover up if you need to escape without your identity discovered." Rawen said with another little grin.
The two walked out together, the sun greeting them upon their exit. Rawen felt a slight chill and she shivered some. She reached into her pack, and gently removed an old, very slightly tattered silver and gold embroidered scarf. She wasn't sure how warm or cold it really was outside, but sometimes Rawen had sudden cold spells out of nowehere. The elven girl sighed quietly and wrapped the scarf around her neck as she listened to Arley carefully.
"If they are Darkspawn, perhaps they are a few stragglers. I hear sometimes small packs will emerge and come up to the surface. Still though, we can't let them get away." Rawen said solemnly, nodding. "I agree though...something strange is going on. Let's head to the Chantry then, and get as much information as we can." She nodded again as the two headed towards the Chantry.
Arley turned to her, and asked how she had become a Warden. Rawen looked at Arley, then away. A small frown tugged at her lips. "Well, It's a very long story. I felt like I couldn't be with my Clan anymore. I love them dearly, and I know they loved me too but...I felt so isolated. I was an only child, my mother died when I was young, and my father was killed by Shemlens, err, humans." Rawen fidgeted with her scarf nervously. "Well, basically, I felt I couldn't live there anymore. I felt it was my fault that my father died. I know it wasn't but..." She sighed, and looked back to Arley, forcing a little smile. "I came across a group of Wardens, and asked to join. I feel like I have some sort of purpose here now at least. And well, here I am." Rawen shrugged.
"What about you? How did you end up joining? If you don't mind me asking." She asked curiously, tilting her head up to look at the taller man. The duo were coming up to the Chantry now, and soon they would hopefully find the answers they seek, and hunt after the supposed Darkspawn threat.

"No, no need to apologize, I promise it is fine." He chuckled, "I almost thought it was a joke, but then I realized you are Dalish, we will be traveling together so you will hear some jokes a sarcasm, the Dalish I've met don't usually talk like I do. I actually enjoy it, its nice to know that your people are staight-foward, I don't have to ask as many questions," He did like elves, he got along fine with most of the ones he met, but then again he was not a racist, although most where always cautious, he hadn't met may how really trusted humans, unless they married one.
Arley listened to her story, he knew what she ment. Being isolated, he never had many friends, and his father was killed by a Templar, and he never knew his mother. "I know how it feels believe it or not," Arley smiled at her. Though he was not Dalish he knew what it was like, the need to move on.
"Well, I grew up in a small costal town here in Ferelden, I never knew my Mother, and my father was a drunk, one day when I was about 18 or 19 I got called down to the bar...My father had been killed by a Templar that he had picked a fight with." Arley sighed, he wished he would have stopped his father from going to the tavern that night. "Anyway, I avenged my fathers death and fled my village. In my travels I met a Grey Warden, she fed me and decided to take me with her, he was an older woman, like my mother and she taught me how to fight using swords and daggers. I was 20 years old my first time to the Deep Roads, and I wasn't a warden yet either. We where fighting the darkspawn and we got seperated, they tore her apart before I could do anything, I had a dagger she had given me and luckily I grabbed one of her daggers and I ran, she had some papers written to me when I arrived back at our camp, thankfully we weren't that far into the Deep Roads. She told me how to get to Vigil's Keep, and who to talk to. When I arrived I talked to the Warden Commander and gave him her testimony, her will. She left everything that was in her chest to me, I decided then to become a Grey Warden, I asked the Commander he said yes and I took my joining, it was the most horrible experience I've ever had." Arley took a breath, he could talk alot.
They where almost to the Chantry, he hoped that it wasn't a darkspawn threat, he didn't like fighting them, but he couldn't thing on anyone else who wore black armor, other than the Legion of the Dead that is..He thought this was curious, even if they were stragglers why would they be so far up? If they had an opening to the Deep Roads, then that would be a huge problem. "I guess we should go see?" Arley asked, he disliked Chantries, but he had to get this done.

Rawen felt another flush of embarrassment appear on her face. Was she simply that terrible with her social skills? A small nervous giggle bubbled up from her and she pushed some stray hairs that fell on her face. "Shemlens---humans I mean, are just so different from my people. I'm never sure what to say in social human situations." She grinned at her companion. "I am glad to hear that we Dalish seem so straight forward. You humans are always a little more...closed off in a way." Well, perhaps they weren't as closed as she thought they were. After all, Rawen didn't really go out and talk to many people, especially humans. Only the ones that were in the Wardens.
It made Rawen feel a bit better that she wasn't alone. When she told Arley her story, he told her he could relate to that. It made her feel a little less alone on the situation. She was quite when he recounted his own tale, and she felt sorrowful for her companion. The two seemed to be on the very same boat in some ways. Rawen frowned deeply as Arley spoke about the female Warden who had taken him under her wing and being slain by Darkspawn in the Deep Roads.
"Ahh. Many sorrows. That is a horrible thing to experience." She looked up at her fellow Gray Warden sympathetically. "And yes, the Joining was horrible wasn't it? Do you get any bad dreams? They are frightening." Rawen shivered at the thought of her nightmares. They felt so real, so tangible. She wrapped her arms around herself, hugging herself.
As the two neared the Chantry, Arley asked if they should head on in. Rawen stared at the grande building, her eyes widening some in slight awe. Chantries were certainly beautiful buildings. At least, she thought they were.
"Yes, we should hurry. The trail grows colder with every moment that passes." Rawen said a little grimly. She once more reached out to lightly tug at her companion's arm, flashing him a little mischievous grin before heading inside. She prayed to the Creators that they would be able to receive much information.

Arley smiled at her, "You can call us Shem, I take no offense," Arley chuckled, "As for social situations, just say what you mean, thats what I do, though I do like a little comedy from time to time. Yes, most humans are closed off, in human society someone is always trying to swindle you, no matter it be gold, gems, or your knickers. So people have to be distrustful or put up fascades and masks so you don't see what they really are. But its all apart of being a sentient being, not just man." Arley babbled he was going on about nothing again. He laughed lightly, "Sorry, I tend to talk alot."
It wasn't often he got to talk about this to someone who would listen to him, it was really relieving to get it out in the open with someone who understood. "Ma Serannas, Rawen." Arley appreciated her condolences. He was starting to like his new companion, she was chatty and nice, and she listened. He noticed that when he talked to Elves, though they were mostly city elves it made no difference to him. enjoyed their company, it was also why he read on their history, it was very interesting to him.
"Oh yes, my Joining was horrible, I was told I started screaming and flailing, they thought I was going to die, but thank the Creator, I am alive. I have many nightmares, they are horrible and I dont sleep much, it is like....I am there, invisible to all the darkspawn around. Sometimes I have actual dreams, well they are still nightmares, but they are things that could never happen..I hope. I don't fancy being eaten by possessed cannibals who want to boil me in a large pot," Arley joked, he hated the nightmares they were stange, but he was learning to block them out, but it was difficult.
She was right they needed to hurry and get out of here. When they entered the Chantry he could only see Templars and cloisters, he walked through the man hall to where the sermon stage was, he saw a man at the podium. "Excuse me brother, we are the Grey Wardens that were sent to talk to the suvivor of the Harrowitz farm attack," Arley told the brother, he looked up at him quizzically, he saw who he was looking at and snapped to attention. "Oh yes, my apologies Ser, I didn't know you would be here so early, sorry, I am Brother Farkis." He apologized, Arley smirked at him, he wasn't an Andrastian but he did respect some Chantry preists though. "Do not apologize my good Brother, I assure it is no burden." Arley replied, Farkas nodded in appreciation.
"But yes, the suvivor. Please, follow me." The Brother walked off the podium and waved them to a room off to the side. They entered the small room, it was a tad dark; it only had one window. There was an unmade bed and some clothes on a table, along with a plate of vegitables and a glass of water. I a chair in the corner sat a boy, he could only have been fifteen or sixteen, but he was in shape, he had a sword leaning on the couch, and he was reading a book. The boy looked up as the two walked in. "Are you the Grey Wardens?" he said with an excited tone, his voice rather high for someone of his stature.

"Ah, well I know some humans get offended by the name. You are not one of those it seems." Rawen said with a slight smile on her face. She listened as he spoke about human society, studying him all the while. "Oh dear! Well, I happen to like my knickers, so I hope no one tries to take them." Rawen said, quite bewildered and having not understanding the meaning right away. "Why would someone want to take someone else's knickers? Ohhh....I understand now..." Rawen said with a laugh.
She pondered over what Arley said, and nodded. Perhaps everyone did do things like that, not just humans. She had never thought about it before until he told her. Rawen smiled and shook her head. "I don't mind, really. I love hearing others talk. It is fascinating." She truly meant that of course. As a child, Rawen always spent time listening to the Clan's storyteller, and would spend hours there, simply listening. Everyone had a story to tell, and Rawen enjoyed to learn different tales from new people.
"Not too bad on the pronunciation Arley. Don't worry, you'll be a master at it soon." Rawen said with a chiming laugh. Only once had she heard another human attempt to say phrases from the Dalish language, and that man's attempt had been poor at best. Arley's wasn't bad at all. And Rawen wouldn't scorn him for using the language of the People. He was friendly, and fairly interesting for a human. She was glad she had been paired up with someone like him. Pleasant, kind, and considering.
She let out another laugh as he spoke about his strange dreams, without really meaning to. "Oh my, that is quite the dream...a unique one for sure."
As they two entered the Chantry, Arley began speaking to one of the priests. Rawen was silent as she studied the inside of the building. She was unsure what to say, feeling she was more likely to offend the humans in here than anywhere else. After all, she did not believe in their religion, and for all she knew, they could treat her as some heathen. As the two men conversed, Rawen watched them curiously before following after them once the Brother had agreed to lead them to the survivor. They were lead into a small room, where a young boy was, sitting in a corner reading. He looked only a few years younger than she was. How sad. Rawen frowned a little, but placed a gentle smile on her face when the boy asked if they were the Gray Wardens.
"Yes we are Da'len. We are here to help in any way we can. But we need your help. Can you give us any details about the attackers?" Rawen asked gently, looking sympathetically at the young boy.

"Well, no I am not. I have met a few Dalish Grey Wardens, they call me Shem, but they used it as a joke really, I would joke with them about the ears, they would joke about how I am going to die faster, it was good times. I like Elven people, I study your language and your cuture, you may think I'm intersting, but so are you, your language, lore, your religion it all amazing."
"Oh don't worry...No one will steal your knickers," Arley laughed. "It is a figure of speech, or sarcasm, there is just alot of people who will rob you if you are not careful, though most people are, but that is because they are trying to get over on you first," he explained, most Dalish didn't get his sarcasm, but the ones he met where older and all died from the Calling. He noticed her understanding finially, "Haha, yes but that is how it is, the forest is very different." Arley stated with a slight chuckle.
Arley was happy that she didn't mind him talking, most people told him to shut up, as they were all up-tight, do-gooders who had no personality, worse than Tranquil, Arley thought. "Thank you, I notice that most folk get annoyed by it, thanks again." Arley smiled at her, she was great, she was polite, courteous, and extremly kind. She was also easy to talk to, and she seemed to understand him. "My pronounciation was good? Ma Serannas again! Most get offended when I speak Elvish, but you Dalish are fascinating, that and your beauty is unmatched, I would rather look at you then a human woman," Arley said he looked on one other Honovi, but Elves where different, they were so beautiful in a way he couldn't explain.
She commented on his dream, he had to laugh at that, "Yes I have some strange dreams, they bother me sometimes." Arley cringed, his dreams where so vivid he figured some of them actually happend, but thats what you get for being a Grey Warden. They got to the boy, Rawen asked if he had any details on the mission. The boy looked at here ciriously, "Attackers?...Yes! Yes! They came in the middle of the night...Vicious swords, and strange armors....Yes! They had very sharp looking yellow teeth! AHH! The whole farm...Massacred! They, the attackers, did not speak, growled! Grunted! Put the peoples heads on pikes!" He freaked out, he seemed mad, maybe it was the shock from the trauma, who knows, Arley looked at Rawen, "This guy is crazy," He whispered. "They did not find me..I...I escaped, have no family now...I ran, ran as fast as I could away from the monsters! Before they could eat me!" Suddenly the brother stepped in. "Sorry I must ask that we leave, he has been having these strange fits as of late. Please, I do not want to make it worse," He opened the door and waved them out.

Rawen let out a little laugh at Arley's about the banter between him and other Dalish Wardens. "That sounded fun. The joking around and whatnot." A wistful smile appeared on her lips when the other Warden spoke about his interest in the Dalish culture. "It is interesting isn't it? If only we could recover more of our history. So much about our people was lost." Sure, they had recovered some of their history, but certainly not all of it.
"Oh! Good. I am glad no one is wanting to steal my knickers." She said with another chiming laugh. "Ma serranas for the advice." She smiled, grateful that she was given a few wise words about how people acted out here. After all, Rawen was still fairly clueless, naive in some ways even. The Dalish could be compared to children sometimes, well, the younger Dalish anyways. They knew little about life outside the Clan, and when they are thrust into human society, they did not know what to do.
"Why would they be annoyed by your talking? You can learn so much just by what someone talks about." The young girl asked, truly bewildered. Amusement once more filled her features again as Arley once more thanked her in her language, and she giggled. "Well, I won't be offended by it. I think it is endearing to hear you try to speak our language." Rawen nodded, looking back up at her companion.
A light blush colored her cheeks, and her hazel eyes widened a bit as he spoke of elven beauty, and how he'd rather look at someone like her than a human woman. "O-oh thank you! That is...sweet of you to say." Rawen said, giving a small, slightly nervous laugh. "A lot of Shemlen men I've seen are fairly attractive. The women seem to try too hard to be pretty." The elf said, fidgeting with the scarf around her neck.
When Rawen questioned the young boy, he seemed to rave about the attackers, growing in volume as he described gruesome details. She felt very unsettled by this information, and she felt a cold chill shiver through her body. The elf heard Arley whisper about the poor boy's sanity, and she turned to him. "This boy has been through a lot." She whispered back. Rawen crossed her arms over her chest, looking at the young boy in sympathy, though a look of anxiety filled her features as well. "You poor thing...Abelas. I feel much sorrow over this. We will find who did this. I promise you." Rawen vowed, nodding.
The brother came in, asking the both of them to leave due to the boy's fit. "I apologize...thank you for letting us see him though. Dareth shiral." She said with a slight bow before exiting through the door.
"This is very troubling...that sounded a lot like Darkspawn to me...what do you think?" Rawen asked in a troubled tone.

"As I have explained, it is different here. People don't want to listen, they get annoyed because they think they already know everything." He was right, folks were very independent and unwilling to listen to true facts, they would rather live by the opinions they have formed based on their own observations. "That and I talk alot," He smiled, he nodded at her thanks and saw her blush, "You are very welcome, ah yes, women do try to hard to look pretty, its all that make-up, that paint clowns and jesters use. That is why I prefer Elves, you are naturally pretty. Natural blush, and the hazel eyes." Arley said flirtaciously, winking at Rawen.
"I know he has been through a lot, but listed to him, its like when you eat the Darkspawn instead of the Joining," He whispered, he could see the worry on her face as she crossed her arms. "Yes thank you brother for letting us speak to him," Arley waved as the Chantry member walked away. "I don't know...He explained every detail of what a Darkspawn would have, that, and I know of no other people who wear black armor, other than Legion of the Dead, but they dont come up to the surface much..." Arley pondered the new found information, he had to assume that it was Darkspawn, that kid described an attack in perfect detail. "I has to be Darkspawn, but we should get going, we can discuss it on the way, we have a long day ahead of us." Arley smiled at her thoughtfully, it was nice to know that he was going with another Warden, one that he could get along with at that.
He walked out of the Chantry into town, commerce had picked up since he had been out, and there where more stalls up than last time, it was buzzing. "I love the City, especially one thats not Denerim, before we head out of town I figure I should ask, is there anything you need before we go? Extra supplies perhaps? I ask because I forgot to grab something," Arley went to a stall that had fresh "herbs", he bought a few "herbs" to make a poison, he had learned to finially make a basic poison out of things that were everywhere.

It was a little amusing to Rawen how quickly she had gotten out of her shell around Arley. When the Commander had first set her up with the other human Warden, she had been skeptical. She kept quiet about it though seeing as she would have to get over her distrust of humans. Besides, she needed to learn to at least truth the human Wardens. She was one of them now, so her guard should be lower around them. Perhaps she already felt comfortable about Arley though. She could relate to him in some ways, and vice versa. It was good to talk with someone who understood what she was going through, who had experienced what she had, only altered somewhat.
"I don't understand why human women wear such silly things on their faces...it looks...strange." She said with a small grin. A little confused expression appeared on her face when Arley winked at her, not quite getting he was being flirtatious. Well, not right away anyways. When Rawen realized, she let out a little quiet laugh and lightly nudged Arley's arm. "You are...trying to flatter, no?" She said with a mischievous little grin.
Rawen made a little horrified gasp. "Do people really eat Darkspawn? That is...disgusting!" She whispered, a little terrified of the thought. Drinking the blood had been bad enough...but eating the flesh of one of those creatures? It was too much to think about. "The Legion of the Dead have no reason to be out attacking farmsteads though. So...surely it has to be...Darkspawn then." The idea of coming across those filthy monsters was enough to send a cold chill up her spine. "Yes, you're right. We should get moving." She said with a small, flustered sigh.
As they walked, Arley spoke about how he loved the city here. She looked around, finding herself to be a little anxious to move out of here. Sure, the Clan had been full of others, but...she had known each and every elf there. Here, she knew no one, and it made Rawen nervous. "It seems so...crowded here." She said aloud before turning her attention back to Arley as he asked if she needed any supplied. Rawen slipped off her pack, careful not to shrug off her bow. She slipped off her quiver as well, setting down her pack momentarily to look at her supply of arrows. There was plenty, enough to last Rawen a few battles. She then rummaged through her pack, shuffling past various herbs, either for healing, or poison making value, they were separated of course. Rawen checked the amount of coin she had, and a small amount of food that would last her a little while. She could always go out and hunt if needed, so she never carried around too much food. Then, naturally she had a little container of water. Satisfied, she closed her pack and put it and the quiver back on.
"I'm fine when it comes to supplies." Rawen said quietly, following after her Warden companion like a lost puppy as he went for herbal supplies. "Where is it that we need to go again? Quite a distance I know." Rawen asked, once more fidgeting with her scarf. She was ready to get moving, ready to get out on the road and away from this crowded place.

"Yes people are strange," Arley agreed with a nod, he realized it had taken a second for her to get that it was flirting when she nudged his arm, "Yes, I am trying to flatter, is it working?" Arley blushed a bit, he had never hit on a Dalish Elf before.
Arley let out a laugh when she gasped at his comment. "Yes, in the Deep Roads some get left behind or lost, and instead of letting the Darkspawn get them the eat the dead ones. The Darkspawn look at you as an ally then, you have the same....'scent' if you will," He didn't know if she would get the analogy, though she was a grown woman, and she wasn't stupid, but she didn't get some of his jokes, he couldn't be sure. Rawen looked around the city and said it was crowded. "Yes, it is crowded, but not as bad as Denerim. I just like the bustle, its nice to have different people to talk to everyday. They are much kinder here than in Denerim also, there are so many Orlesians, they are very rude, pompous asses." "I don't like Orlesians, they are so snobby, and they always think they are better than you because they are from Orlais, but if they are so good because they are from Orlais, then why are they here?" Arley ranted, he had forgotten he was talking to Rawen, "Sorry."
"Good, I am all set, I packed before you got here. We are going to Harrowitz Farmstead, its about fifty miles away from here. I've never been there before, but I was told its a bigger farmstead, and it was on a dwarves trading route, so we might have a little problem on our hands." He explained, it didn't really matter though, because it only took 2 Grey Wardens to end a blight. He proceeded out of the town, he was ready to get on the road, it had been along time since he had fought Darkspawn.
