Granted. Humanity is brought into a new age of splendor, little are you aware that this source of infinite energy ends up acting like a beacon for aliens who arrive and utterly obliterate humanity, plundering our valuable resources (like womenz & gold!) and of course, their new source of infinite energy.
I wish my Old Republic character could break the level cap and continue getting more powerful without limits under the approval of BioWare, this great character becomes a legendary hero on my server resulting in excellent fun times all around. Especially for me as I live a healthy life full of interest, intrigue, love and wealth by day, but in the evenings I'm the heroic Jedi of our era~

Granted!! But then the creators of the game decide they want you to be on their team and all of your time is taken up working for Bioware. You never get the chance to play the game again, and when you do its for testing and you completely abhor it.

Wish granted. You rule the universe with the glorious ancient artifact known as the "Iron Fist of Kalfajwoeif"
Unfortunately, a band of plucky young rebels eventually overthrow you, as plucky young rebels just so love to do. They steal the Iron Fist of Kalfajwoeif and bludgeon you to death with it. Even more unfortunately, plucky young rebels are hardly effective administrators, they end up destroying one another in a mutual pursuit of power, plunging the universe into perpetual grimdarkness.

You then learn you wished upon a fish. Its a fish. It has no wish granting powers. Because its a fish. You make a wish but nothing happens. You then eat the fish but it was dirty and you get the squirts.
I wish to be the center of a very successful party, full of sweet dames and happenin' dudes.

Granted. You throw an amazing party, there are plenty of guys to have great conversation with and tons of beautiful women trying to get your attention. Sadly the company that made the food for this party was a dirty place. Everyone including you get horribly sick. After that everyone treats you like you are a leper...you die alone

Granted. Your treated like a Princess forever, which includes being married off for political reasons by your father to a dirty old git who's well passed his sell by date. You end up being the Royal Arm Candy and Baby Maker for the rest of your life, but at least your a Princess!
I wish the stuff I was downloading would speed up.

Wish granted!! But you get horribly lost and end up somewhere desolate and remote and before you starve to death you realize the wound you get running from rabid animals got infected and you die a horrible sickening death!!

Wish Granted! You go and begin to have a wonderful time. You enter a tea house but it end up being the wrong one. The geishas aren't pleased that you are there. They call in the yakuza, from there you are beaten within an inch of your life, allowed to heal and feel better and then you are hung from a tree in the garden behind the tea house....

Wish granted!! But then you end up skipping important events of your life like that horrible movie click. You miss your children growing up, your promotions in life...and most of all Dragon Age 3. You wake up one day to find you are dieing of AIDS somehow.

Granted, you become the "God Emperor," although in your opening days a terribly injury confines you to a Golden Throne for the rest of your life, leaving you as little more then a psychic husk. Humanity survives under your path, but the level of industry and output required to sustain humanity renders most of one's live a constant cycle of backbreaking labour and meager rest.
