She watched as thoughts flickered across his face, though she didn’t understand them. Thankfully her mind received it’s answers soon enough. "I have no great experience in courts, but I'm aware of the general conduct expected." He was more truthful that she would have originally thought. This was good though, should the need arise she could have him tutored thoroughly enough that no one would ever be the wiser. If she was to have a champion at her side, he was going to behave as a champion should. Ariadne was the Grand Duchess and she wouldn’t tolerate some backwoods snit as her companion.
Surprisingly he sat in a proper position. Not close enough for anyone to breathe a word of scandal but close enough that her voice shouldn’t need to rise at all. A pleased smile danced upon her crimson lips, as she settled her hands in her lap like she had been taught. Her head tilted slightly as she turned her attention back towards the warrior. ”I know I am the one seeking a champion but why would you want to work for me? My brother would be able to offer you the glory you seek. Dragon raids and other such things are what his fighters engage with. At my side you shall merely be a decoration unless necessary…” Ariadne had an inquisitive mind, and she was destined to figure this man out.
